The Richmond Museum aims to inspire curiosity about our communityās history while exploring our place in the world.Ā We invite visitors, students and educators to come on a journey of discovery with us.
As museum storytellers, collectors and educators, our goal is to create moments of wonder and understanding. Our exhibitions tell the many stories of Richmond; our collections show how we live, past and present; our education programs open minds, young and old; and our work translates into action for a healthy community and planet.
The Richmond Museum collects, documents, researches, preserves, exhibits and interprets objects of historical and cultural significance to the development and history of Richmond.

The Richmond Regional Heritage Fair is an annual two-day event presented by the Richmond Museum. It not only showcases history projects created by Richmond students but also offers unique, enriching activities that inspire a deeper appreciation for and curiosity about Canada's past.
Each year, over 100 Richmond students present Heritage Fair projects on topics that draw from family and local Richmond stories to regional, provincial and national history. Over 6000 students take part in Heritage Fairs across BC and thousands more across Canada.
We are a grassroots advocacy organization that believes in mobilizing everyday people to generate the political will to end extreme poverty. We combine the voices of our volunteers with strategic areas of focus to leverage resources for programs and improved policies that give people living in poverty the health, education and opportunity they need to thrive. Whether itās writing letters to the editor (LTEs), using social media or engaging with parliamentarians, our passionate volunteers positively impact people living in low- and middle-income countries.
The Regional Animal Protection Society ā RAPS ā is an independent, non-profit organization serving animals and their people. We are, very proudly, a no-kill animal care agency. We independently operate one of North Americaās largest cat sanctuaries, the RAPS Cat Sanctuary - a loving forever home to 400 cats. In addition, our RAPS Adoption Centre receives cats and kittens as owner-surrenders, from other rescue agencies & shelters and feral cats who have been trapped. These cats and kittens are available for adoption. The not-for-profit RAPS Animal Hospital opened in February 2018. The RAPS Animal Hospital is a full-service, community-supported veterinary hospital, owned and operated by the Regional Animal Protection Society. In addition, RAPS operates two RAPS Thrift Stores in Richmond as well as one in New Westminster. All revenue from the thrift stores is reinvested to help save and improve the lives of animals and their people in our community.
We are proud to have served the animals and people of this city and region for over two decades. We could not do what we do if not for the generous contribution of time, skill and caring of our extraordinary volunteers.
Reel Causes Society is a volunteer-run BC registered non-profit that creates positive social change by combining the power of film with the power of community action. We host social film screenings that bring people together, connecting them with professional independent filmmakers and Canadian non-profits working to address health, environmental and social justice-related issues. Since 2010 weāve highlighted and supported the work of almost 60 independent filmmakers and as many Canadian organizations doing great work locally and abroad, and have connected thousands of film-goers with these community change-makers.
Red Fox Healthy Living Society is a registered charity that empowers Aboriginal and inner-city youth and children to realize their potential as active, healthy leaders and role models. We run child and family recreation programs, and train, mentor and challenge youth to gain work experience within them.
Born from the vision of Chief Dr. Robert Joseph, Gwawaenuk Elder, Reconciliation Canada is leading the way in engaging Canadians in dialogue and transformative experiences that revitalize the relationships among Indigenous peoples and all Canadians. Our model for reconciliation engages people in open and honest conversation to understand our diverse histories and experiences. We actively engage multi-faith and multi-cultural communities to explore the meaning of reconciliation. Together, we are charting a New Way Forward.
Through the development of meaningful partnerships and community outreach programs, Reconciliation Canada has delivered a series of Reconciliation Dialogue Workshops across Canada, hosted events during Reconciliation Week in September 2013, including the Walk for Reconciliation engaging 70,000 people in Downtown Vancouver, and co-hosted events in Ottawa and Vancouver to coincide with the closing of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada.
Each person has an important role to play in reconciliation. Reconciliation begins with oneself and then extends into our families, relationships, workplaces and eventually into our communities.
Schools for Schools is a program of facilitation whereby Canadian scholars can link with a local African learners to develop friendship, facilitate mutual understanding and knowledge of the circumstances in which they live and learn on a daily basis.
It provides an opportunity to Canadian Schools to get a real understanding of International Development and the issues and challenges facing similar aged children in other regions of the world.
In this process Schools For School facilitates the opportunity for a Canadian School to link with a specific school in Africa and to help raise funds and support towards the educational needs of that specific school and the learners that attend there
Welcome to Reach Education! Our curriculum-focused programs, cater to children in grades K-8. We are pleased to offer a variety of activities, including Birthday Parties, Camps, After School Enrichment Classes to families across Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, and Burnaby.
Raindance Vancouver is a not-for-profit organization that promotes and supports independent filmmaking in Vancouver and around the world. Raindance is founder of the Raindance Film Festival and The British Independent Film Awards.
Founded in 2000, Rainbow Refugee promotes safe, equitable migration and communities of belonging for people fleeing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or HIV status.
We provide support, information, and system navigation to refugees and refugee claimants seeking refugee status in Canada. We manage the Rainbow Refugee Assistant Partnership, allowing us to privately sponsor refugees in collaboration with other LGBTQI+ organizations in the Rainbow Coalition for Refuge.
Rabbitats is a volunteer-run organization that survives off the donations of wonderful people like you. Every cent we receive goes towards rescuing feral and abandoned rabbits: paying for veterinary care, finding good homes, and building sanctuaries.
Large numbers of abandoned domestic rabbits can be safely, securely and happily housed in indoor or outdoor ārabbitatsā built in conjunction with animal shelters, pet rescues, institutions, āgreenā businesses or on private land under the care of responsible citizens.
Cities contend with abandoned pets and their feral offspring while rural areas deal with unscrupulous breeders who routinely release their unwanted stock. The non-native domestic rabbits soon become a problem for municipalities, businesses and neighbourhoods forced to deal with environmentally destructive natural behaviour like chewing and burrowing.
Itās a tragedy for the loose bunnies as they will most likely be killed by predators, parasites, sport hunters or trappers hired for āpest controlā.
Rabbitats can help build affordable colony housing for sterilized rabbits and educate new rabbit guardians on low maintenance and sustainable care. Controlled rabbit populations can replace feral colonies.
The Vancouver International Marathon Society RUNVANĀ® is the non-profit, volunteer-run organization, responsible for organizing the BMO Vancouver Marathon, Vancouverās only marathon event. The Society is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and delivers running events with a mandate to inspire active lifestylesĀ and celebrate the value sport delivers to our communities. The event relies on the support of nearly 4,000 volunteers annually and has helped runners raise over $15 million for charity.
