We provide early intervention therapy services to children under 6, key worker programme, social skills development programme, brain injury programme, and a supported child development programme for children who attend childcare or preschool.

Battered Women’s Support Services provides direct services to survivors of gender-based violence and abuse. We support survivors of intimate partner violence and abuse, sexual assault, and childhood sexual assault. A feminist voice against violence and oppression, BWSS is a strong, dynamic organization that provides support and advocacy for women who have experienced abuse, as well as community education and training about violence against women. Part of a global feminist anti-violence movement, our long-term goal is the elimination of all violence against women and girls. We contribute to the freedom and liberation of girls and women from violence and to empower our community through training and education programs. Since 1979, we have been provided counselling and healing spaces for those who have experienced abuse. To help women build strength and resiliency, we work on institutional and systemic advocacy, legal advocacy and law reform, youth engagement and we operate two social enterprises: My Sister’s Closet and Strategic Interventions in British Columbia.

We are an independent organization managed by volunteers, whose purpose is to celebrate the French National Day, July 14, and to discover the French presence by sharing our culture with the people of Vancouver. The Bastille Day Festival Society is open to anyone wishing to get involved as volunteer in the organization of this event.

Bard on the Beach is Western Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festival. Presented in Vancouver’s Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park against a spectacular backdrop of mountains, sea and sky, the Festival offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas and special events in two modern performance tents from June through September, with an average attendance of 100,000. The Festival is known for its signature blend of high-quality artistic programming and a welcoming, informal experience for local residents and visitors from around the world. Bard Education offers year-round opportunities to play and explore Shakespeare, through programs for youth, emerging theatre artists, and our general community.

BabyGoRound is a registered charity, which has been operating out of a store-like facility on Kingsway since October 2012. Our mission is to help families in need in Greater Vancouver to safely care for their babies and toddlers by providing them with essential baby gear, such as cribs and strollers, that they might otherwise not be able to access. Families are served from a wide range of communities throughout the Lower Mainland. BabyGoRound relies heavily on individuals and families to donate gently used items, which are then redistributed to close to 800 families each year.

BabyGoRound is a nonprofit organization run almost exclusively by volunteers, that collects new and used baby gear and donates it back to parents in need with children 0-4 years. Services are by referral and appointment.

Our program is called BLUSH: Bold Learning for Understanding Sexual Health, run by Vancouver Coastal Health. Our team of Youth Educators (age 17-23) deliver workshops on Sexual Health, Healthy Relationships, and Media Literacy to high school students across Vancouver and Richmond.

Vancouver is a community driven metropolis and the artists, innovators, movers and especially the shakers, power it’s beating heart. BIL events are powered the same way, being entirely participant driven and volunteer run. BIL is a global community of people who have a passion for sharing ideas. Through self-organizing events, communities are brought together for intense collaborative learning. Plans for BIL Vancouver 2017 Unconference are now under way! Opportunities for collaboration abound as organizers seek to make this years event better than ever.

Since 2006, BEST’s (Better Environmentally Sound Transportation) Bike Valet has been providing professional, secure, coat-check style bicycle parking in and around Metro Vancouver. The Bicycle Valet is one of Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST) initiatives. It’s simple! Ride your bike to the Valet at one of our events, and we’ll take care of the rest. Just like a coat-check, we’ll tag your bike and provide you with a claim stub. Enjoy the event, and bring back the claim stub when you want your bike returned. You can even leave your helmet or panniers on your bike (securely attached of course). We also offer lots of sustainable transportation resources in Metro Vancouver, including City of Vancouver pocket maps, Regional Cycling Maps, Translink transit maps, and other municipalities’ cycling maps. Our friendly Valet team members are also always happy to chat, provided we’re not too busy parking bicycles!

Mission, Vision and Charter The following are the founding principles of The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA). Mission To protect and enhance the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Vision statement To inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals enjoy as a minimum, five essential freedoms: Freedom from hunger and thirst Freedom from pain, injury, and disease Freedom from distress Freedom from discomfort Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.

BCEdAccess Society is an entirely volunteer-run organization serving families of students with disabilities and complex learners all over the province of British Columbia. Our parent support group has over 1600 members and stories shared on our private discussion board daily illustrate the depth of the challenges families face in pursuing equitable access to education in BC schools. Our History: BCEdAccess began when a small group of parents gathered together in a Facebook group around the end of 2014. Tracy Humphreys set up this group because although she was able to find many great organizations of parents working together to support specific disabilities, there was none that gathered all of the parents together to discuss the issues that all of these groups have in common in trying to access education for their children. The group was fortunate to have some very strong and long-term parent advocates join as founding members, setting the tone and direction of the organization that has continued to today. What we do: On November 21, 2018, seeing that the need for this group is ongoing, we incorporated the BCEdAccess Society. Our Constitution and Purpose states: “We champion and support children and youth who have disabilities and who are complex learners to reach their full potential in BC education, and in all aspects of their lives. This is achieved through supporting families, sharing information, providing education to families, allies, professionals and students, providing community engagement and awareness, and other activities to promote equitable access to education and inclusion for all.”

The BC Wrongful Death Law Reform Society is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Society Act of BC. Its goal is to change the law in British Columbia, which currently denies justice to the survivors of children, the elderly and many people with disabilities killed by the careless or intentional acts of another. We are independent and our policies and campaigning objectives are set by our membership and board. We are non-profit and all proceeds are put back into achieving our campaigning objectives. We are non-party political.
