On the pitch, Whitecaps FC is steeped in North American history, dating back to 1974. After finally making the jump to MLS in 2011, our club has found success year over year. Breaking club point records, continuing the tradition of lifting the Cascadia Cup, winning our first-ever Canadian Championship, and finally bringing the MLS Cup playoffs to BC Place.

In 2008, a few students at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business had been attending conference and events and noticed a gap. Not enough women were featured as speakers and there was nothing addressing the unique needs and interests of young women in the workplace.
An idea began to develop and very quickly grew into the vision of a network and conference for young women in business. In March 2008, the first YWiB Beyond Pink Leadership Conference was launched, highlighting inspirational speakers, workshops and events all featuring women.
YWiB continues spreading this same aspiration today. With each year we grow, we are proud to support even more young women to achieve success on their own terms.
Learning is a lifelong journey with challenges and difficulties, during which we grow and gain confidence. In the GRIT learning hub, we provide professional, passionate academic support in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). Our educational support ranges from Grade 1 through Grade 12 in an encouraging and highly supportive environment.
We also incorporate the GRIT spirit in our education method, utilizing passion and perseverance to educate students to achieve their long-term success throughout their lives. Our curriculum encourages students to take thoughtful risks, engage in experimental learning, problem-solve, and embrace teamwork for inspirational support. Our focus and devotion to education prepare students for the confidence and abilities to meet and exceed any educational challenges.
The British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a non-profit animal welfare organization which enforces animal protection legislation, operates animal shelters, and runs educational workshops and public awareness programs throughout British Columbia, Canada.
Community Arts Council of Vancouver (CACV) was the first arts council in North America and will celebrate its 75th Anniversary in 2021. Since 1946, CACV has been a contributor to shaping the cultural life of Vancouver through development of the Queen Elizabeth Playhouse Theatre, City of Vancouver Archives, UBC School of Music, Museum of Vancouver, Vancouver International Film Festival, The Opheum and others. CACV is an independent non-profit charitable organization, unaffiliated with any government department.
VISION and MISSION
Our vision is of a socially-engaged, inclusive, and vibrant city alive with community arts. Our mission is to further the development of community arts throughout Vancouver.
Community arts is made by, with, for, and because of people sharing a sense of community, with the support of professional artists. Please consider joining the CACV Board and help us expand the community arts in Vancouver.
CACV programs address social exclusion and accessibility of creative opportunities, Indigenous and non-Indigenous relationships, and sustainability in the arts sector including Reframing Relations, Vancouver Outsider Arts Festival, Community Arts Network – GATHER, and Artist in Residence partnering with John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland.
CACV completed a new 3-year strategic plan in 2019, including a comprehensive capacity enhancement plan.
The Goh Ballet Vancouver Society hosts and presents dance productions for emerging performing artists as well as nurtures and cultivates artistic achievements when students transition to professional status. The Society enlists community support for scholarship, bursaries and public education programs.
Annual fundraising events are held for Scholarship Funds, Performance Productions and Artistic Development Projects.
The British Columbia Recreation and Parks Association (BCRPA), a not for profit organization, plays a central role in leading the enrichment and improvement of the quality of life of British Columbians and their communities. We do this by championing the power of recreation and parks.
The ASAP lab conducts clinical and community-based research to estimate the frequency of anxiety and stress-related disorders in ASD with greater precision and identify risk factors. Additionally, we aim to improve clinical practices by providing guidelines and measures for determining when someone with ASD is experiencing anxiety or trauma and by effectively treating these conditions in community settings.
The Disability Foundation primarily supports six charitable societies that provide accessible and meaningful activities.
Community Evolution (CE) is a non-profit organization, founded in 2015. Our mission is to enable community-based enterprises (eg. co-operatives) to develop, grow and create positive change for its members and surrounding community. We offer a customized, facilitated process that combines community mobilization and capacity building with financial mechanisms (grants or loans) to empower and sustain community development. We currently support enterprises in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Canada (British Columbia).
Paul’s Club is a social and recreational day program for men and women living with Young Onset Dementia.
We provide a physically and emotionally safe environment, with activities geared towards the specific needs of those experiencing symptoms of Young Onset Dementia. Paul's Club opened in 2012 and is the first and only program of its kind in Vancouver.
The Club has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and is designed to be fun!
Paul's Club is open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays 50 weeks of the year, and is led by a Program Director, Chelsea Grills, who has a degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Douglas College. A maximum of 15 Members attend the Club each day.
Paul's Club provides at least six hours a day of essential respite for caregivers.
Refreshments, snacks, and a daily choice of hot lunch are part of the program. Paul's Club has a warm, bright, and welcoming atmosphere. There is a large adjoining patio and a well equipped gym which we can enjoy on a daily basis.
The Club is located at The Hampton Inn & Suites on the corner of Robson and Beatty in Vancouver. You can take advantage of the convenient drop off area, which can be accessed from Beatty Street.

Urban Ink is a Vancouver-based professional theatre company that produces works by Indigenous and diverse artists. We put the power in the hands of Indigenous and culturally diverse artists to tell their own stories from their own unique voice.

Our Story
Established in 2001, the company was founded by Métis artist Marie Clements as an Indigenous and multi-cultural theatre company and produced over a dozen new works for the mainstage. In 2007, Diane Roberts became artistic director, creating new work, touring internationally to the Caribbean, and working in collaboration with rural Indigenous communities. In 2014, Oji-Cree First Nations theatre artist Corey Payette became artistic director. Corey is committed to deepening Urban Ink’s strong tradition of developing and investing in the voices of Indigenous and diverse artists to create work that celebrates the diversity of Canadian theatre.
