EDU Beyond is a non-profit online tutoring initiative with the goal of minimizing educational disparity for K-12 students through an internationally connected network of learners. We believe that education has become an increasingly pressing matter, especially considering the limiting effects of COVID-19 on student-tutor interactions. Students who have had past difficulties in a regular school setting may face even harsher setbacks due to the quarantine environment. With that in mind, we at EDU Beyond saw the need to create an accessible, free, and more personalized platform for students to voice their academic concerns, providing learners with an easy way to supplement the presently rigid online school system while giving tutors volunteering opportunities to give back to their younger peers.

The LMGRS is a non-profit registered charitable organization that has been organizing grief support groups in the greater Vancouver area since it was incorporated in 1990.These programs are offered in the communities of Kerrisdale/West Side and Downtown Vancouver. Our programs are designed for those who have suffered the death of a significant person by helping them understand, cope and live with their loss. We help the grieving person move from pain to healing in a non-judgemental, compassionate and confidential environment. The group facilitators come to this work from a variety of backgrounds, including healthcare, counselling, pastoral work, education, and social service. All have received their bereavement education from the LMGRS and all have experienced first-hand the heartbreak of their own personal losses. In our 30 years of service, we have delivered more than 100 grief support programs and have provided information and resources to over 1000 people that have attended these programs. The LMGRS board and grief facilitators have worked tirelessly to provide and maintain a high level of knowledge, time, energy and compassion in order to keep this society and its mission alive in the community! OUR MISSION To support the bereaved in rebuilding their lives by helping them understand their grief in a safe, confidential environment. WHAT WE PROVIDE Grief Support Groups Our support groups are designed for those who are struggling with the pain of losing a significant person. Trained and experienced facilitators walk with participants on a journey through healing by offering coping tools, support and the chance to share feelings and stories. Guiding is a fun, safe and inclusive space where units explore new interests and passions. Our programs include exploring the outdoors, social justice, STEM, arts, community service, and much more! We welcome all female-identified community members. In Renfrew District (East Vancouver), like many areas, we have wait lists for many programs and are looking for more adult volunteers (ages 19+) to allow more access to all the fun and friendship of Guiding.

We are a student-run organization called VancouverAgainstCorona that is a chapter of an international organization called StudentsAgainstCorona founded at Oxford University. With the reopening of the city, many individuals such as immunocompromised patients, essential workers and the elderly are at higher risk for COVID-19. In hopes to protect these individuals, we are trying to provide non-surgical masks (free of charge and delivered) and would really like your help. We are currently recruiting volunteers to help us lead this initiative.

Our Social Fabric (OSF) is Vancouver’s only non-profit textile recycling organization. We have been in operation since 2009 with a mission to eradicate textile waste from landfills. We receive donations of textiles and sewing-related supplies from individuals, manufacturers, designers, and the film industry.  Our powerful team of volunteers then processes the donations for sale at amazing prices through our retail shop and online store.

United We Can is a registered non profit organization formed 26 years ago to help individuals on the Downtown Eastside with employment opportunities and also a depot location where the binner community can safely bring their refundable beverage containers to and receive  a full refund on each container .

FunforGOal foundation supports individuals whose first language is not English to connect with local communities, and assists all other individuals, businesses to engage in a social cause through educational and recreational means (ways) by utilizing their abilities and skills to make a positive change. We connect with the most unique local events, services, places and people!  With offers of our online workshops reaching across borders, we bring you instant connection and excitement, and will make your community experience into an extraordinary one, and each enjoyment is a step in living your life to the fullest!

We are a grassroots member-led non-profit, and we offer free or by donation yoga classes and a subsidized Yoga Teacher Training. We believe that yoga and every healing modality must be available to everyone. Period.

UNYA's focus since its inception in 1988 has been to provide meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth (Aboriginal, Metis, Inuit, First Nations, Status, Non-Status) in the urban setting. Our goal is to be a safe place for Indigenous youth to come and find out about programs and services at UNYA and in the broader community. UNYA strives to support Indigenous youth by providing a diverse continuum of advocacy, preventative and support services that respond to their immediate and long-term needs. Today, UNYA delivers 20+ programs, with 175+ volunteers, 100 staff, and more than 300 community partners.
