Crazy8s is a Vancouver-based film initiative run by the Crazy8s Film Society, a registered BC not-for-profit organization. Since 1999, it has supported emerging and mid-career Canadian filmmakers by providing funding, mentorship, and industry resources to produce professional short films. To date, Crazy8s has produced over 150 films that have screened and won awards at festivals worldwide.
Formerly known as Maternal Infant Health Canada (MIH Can), Health Together is composed of public health professionals, doctors, researchers, and integrative health practitioners who work to improve the health of women and children in Canada and around the world. Based in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, WISH exists to improve the health, safety and well-being of cis and trans women, Two-Spirit, Non-Binary, and gender diverse sex workers. WISH is a non-judgmental place of compassion and—since 1984—has provided a safe and welcoming space for community. With a 24/7 Shelter, overnight Drop-In, mobile MAP Van, Indigenous Health & Safety Program, InReach and Housing Support Workers, WISH continues to be a critical point of access for essential services, referrals, and peer support.
The Vancouver Comic Arts Association runs the Vancouver Comics Arts Festival, or VanCAF! A two day festival at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre that celebrates a diversity of voices and opens readers to new experiences; creates discussions through comics; and make comics creation and the reading of comics as accessible as possible.
St. Jude’s Anglican Home is a 55 bed complex care home nestled in a west-side residential neighbourhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. Care and services are provided in a home-like environment with the focus on resident needs and desires. The Home is governed by a non-profit society and funded by Vancouver Coastal Health, user fees and donations, so older adults with complex care needs of any background, religion, or culture are welcome here. Volunteers assist with recreation programs and 1:1 visits to help enrich resident quality of life after going through a screening, interview, orientation, and training. Volunteering with us requires a commitment of at least 1 hour per week for teens 16+, 2 hours per week for adults, at least one time per week with allowances for holidays, special events, or sickness. Reference letter will be provided after a minimum of 3 months, and a Certificate of Appreciation after one year of service. Helping skills with older adults living with complex health needs, some living with dementia, will be taught and mentored as needed. Come join the family!
About youth biis S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth Business Innovative Idea Startups (Youth BiiS) Program is an initiative funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada-BC Job Fund to empower eligible young adults between 18 and 29 in their process for self-employment / business startup in Metro Vancouver. Youth are screened into the Youth BiiS Program based on their ability to meet the eligibility criteria and the viability of their business. Our goal As one of the leading social service providers and with years of experience in entrepreneurial skills training in British Columbia, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth BiiS strives to support highly motivated young adults with interest and aptitude for business to obtain the skills and training required to be successful in self-employment / entrepreneurship. Youth BiiS takes advantage of experienced business coaches and emphasizes on a need-based approach in the programming. The program flexibility and on-going participant intake ensure that participants focus their time and energy on activities that support them to achieve their career goals.

Join the 2022 School Helpers Tutoring Team! School Helpers is a non-profit, student-run tutoring organization, with students and tutors across Canada. Formed in 2020 by a high school student, School Helpers aims to support families and students during the challenging time of COVID-19. All tutors are volunteer high school/undergraduate university students (ages 13-22), and all tutoring occurs online. School Helpers tutors are subject to the responsibility of conducting/organizing online tutoring sessions and catering their lessons in such a way that best suits the learning style of their student(s). Tutors must be able to help their student(s) in at least one of the following subjects: English, Social Studies, Math, Science, or French. Any additional subjects that are not previously mentioned are also encouraged (please specify this in the application). The BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC) is the umbrella association for the 25 Friendship Centres throughout the Province of British Columbia. The Friendship Centre Movement began in the 1950s. The movement represents a national network, united by the vision of a vibrant society that supports Indigenous peoples and a brighter future in Canada. Friendship Centres are community hubs. They offer culturally safe programs and services, and provide a welcoming space for all members of the community to share knowledge and connect with others. This opportunity is to support Gathering Our Voices, the largest Indigenous youth gathering across BC and Canada.
