Orbis is a global leader and innovator in the fight to end avoidable blindness. We collaborate with our local partners to create long-term, sustainable eye care solutions in low- and middle-income countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Whether it is an eye doctor performing complex surgeries in an urban hospital, a nurse treating patients in a rural clinic, or a primary health care worker screening children in her own community. - We strengthen eye care systems, infrastructure and patient referral networks to build eye health capacity and increase access to quality eye care – now and for the future. - We educate communities and increase awareness about the importance of eye health as a critical component of better overall health and well-being. - We deliver community-based eye health outreach initiatives, ranging from eye screening programs for children in rural schools to the mass distribution of antibiotics to treat and prevent infectious causes of blindness. - We advocate for equal and equitable access to eye health to help ensure no woman, man, girl or boy has to live a life of darkness, dependence and inescapable poverty caused by vision loss that could be easily prevented. While ending avoidable blindness is our mission, Orbis’s work is about much more than helping people see. The link between poverty and vision loss is clear – poverty causes poor vision and poor vision leads to poverty. Orbis helps break this vicious cycle. By restoring sight, we empower people with the ability to go to school, get an education, work to earn a living and take care of themselves and their families. Removing the burden of blindness eliminates barriers and creates opportunities for people to live better, healthier, more productive and more prosperous lives. As a result, individuals, families and entire communities, health systems and economies become stronger. Orbis is also working to close the blindness gender gap and help women and girls reach their full potential. Our gender-focused eye care projects not only help ensure equitable access to high-quality eye care for women and girls, but also create training and employment opportunities, and engage women to play a leading role in eye health in their communities. PD Avengers is a global community of individuals dedicated to ending Parkinson's disease. It was co-founded by passionate advocates who are committed to raising awareness, advocating for research funding, and ultimately finding a cure for Parkinson's. PD Avengers aims to empower people affected by Parkinson's, whether they are patients, caregivers, or supporters, to become advocates for change. Through various initiatives, campaigns, and collaborations, PD Avengers works to mobilize the Parkinson's community and influence policymakers, researchers, and healthcare professionals to prioritize finding a cure and improving the lives of those living with the disease. It's a collective effort to bring about positive change and accelerate progress towards ending Parkinson's once and for all.

Soap for Hope Canada provides access to essential hygiene products to improve the health, hope, and dignity of vulnerable people, from children to seniors, low-income families, refugees, Indigenous Communities, homeless people, and people in Evacuation Centers for fires and floods. The organization primarily works with the hotel industry, collecting and repurposing gently used hygiene products, linens, and lost & found, that would otherwise end up in landfills. Soap for Hope Canada processes and distributes them to Community Facilities serving those in need. Since 2015, Soap for Hope Canada has distributed nearly 10 million hygiene products and linens, diverting almost 1 million pounds from the landfill.

Crossreach Project of Vancouver is a non profit Adult Day Center for seniors in the community located in Kitsilano. The mission of Crossreach is to support people to remain at home while they age by providing social services that promote the dignity and well-being of the participant and their families and/or caregivers. We are partially funded by the provincial government to provide this service. Our clients are referred to our program through the local community health unit following an assessment by a community home and health case manager. Clients attend on average two times a week and the hours of the program are 10:00 to 3:00 Monday to Friday. While at Crossreach, clients are engaged in therapeutic activities and structured programming. We also provide a 3 course meal for lunch.

Ovarian Cancer Canada is the only registered Canadian charity solely dedicated to eradicating ovarian cancer and preventing it from the future. Fighting Blindness Canada (FBC) is the largest charitable funder of vision research in Canada. Over our 50-year history, FBC has contributed critical funding for the development of sight-saving treatments and cures for blinding eye diseases. By raising and stewarding funds, FBC is helping drive forward research that supports our goal of understanding why vision loss occurs, how it can be slowed and how sight can be restored. We are an invaluable resource for individuals and families impacted by blindness, providing accurate eye health information through our website and educational events, as well as engaging with government and other stakeholders to advance better vision health policies.

ASK Friendship Society is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization with over 45 years of experience supporting seniors through inclusive, community-driven programs. One of the first Adult Day Programs (ADPs) in the city, ASK was founded by volunteers responding to a growing social need and has continued to evolve to meet the changing realities of aging. ASK provides adult day programming, social connection, meals, and supportive services that promote independence, dignity, and well-being for seniors—particularly those experiencing isolation, cognitive change, or complex health needs. Programs are designed to be culturally responsive, accessible, and rooted in strong relationships with participants, caregivers, volunteers, and community partners. With a long-standing commitment to collaboration and innovation, ASK plays an important role in Vancouver’s continuum of care, supporting seniors to remain active, engaged, and connected to their communities.

Formerly known as Maternal Infant Health Canada (MIH Can), Health Together is composed of public health professionals, doctors, researchers, and integrative health practitioners who work to improve the health of women and children in Canada and around the world. Together we aim to work closely with local healthcare workers, traditional medicine providers, government, and community members to improve maternal and infant wellbeing and reduce maternal and infant mortality.
