We support people in gaining the knowledge, skills and resources they need to access or grow their own food in a way that fosters biodiversity and enhances our urban environment.
Green Chair is a locally owned waste management business dedicated to providing simple and effective recycling solutions to enhance your community. We are a for-profit social enterprise; proving that a business can be economically sustainable whilst doing the right thing, benefiting those around us and strengthening our community. Do you want to make a difference, learn more about sustainability and help divert huge amounts of waste from our landfills whilst having fun and making friends? If so, we would love to have you on our team. Our volunteers are very precious to us and you will be well treated for your hard work – volunteer letters, smiles, friends, lots of activities (clean-ups, inspirational speakers, tours etc) and fun.

The Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS), located at UBC Farm, is a unique research centre that aims to understand and fundamentally transform local and global food systems towards a more sustainable, food-secure future. The centre is a living laboratory, committed to finding solutions to both the local and global challenges facing food systems sustainability and translating solutions to improve personal, community, and environmental health.
Stanley Park Ecology Society promotes awareness of and respect for the natural world and plays a leadership role in the stewardship of Stanley Park through collaborative initiatives in education, research and conservation.
BC & Alberta Guide Dogs breeds, raises and professionally trains Guide Dogs for individuals who are blind/visually-impaired, and Autism Support Dogs for children with moderate to profound autism aged 3-10 and their families. It takes two years and upwards of $35,000 to produce one certified dog, provided free of charge to the recipient.

Free Geek is a nonprofit community organization that reduces the environmental impact of waste electronics by reusing and recycling donated technology. Through community engagement we provide education, job skills training, Internet access and free or low cost computers to the public.

The Great Climate Race is a brand new running series that raise awareness about climate solutions and crowdfunds for local solar projects. The inaugural race will take place on the Stanley Park seawall on October 30th, and will involve both a 10K and 2.5K course. It's a fun, family-friendly walk ​and run that's zero waste and solar-powered, with entertainment, costumes, healthy snacks, and more!
