Vancouver Aboriginal Friendship Centre Society (VAFCS) is a non profit charitable organization serving the needs of the urban Aboriginal community. VAFCS's mandate is to provide programs and services in health and welfare, social services, human rights, culture, education, recreation and equality for all genders of Aboriginal People of all age groups. VAFCS's hosts, partners and supports many community events throughout the year with Annual Events such as: Family Day, Aboriginal Day, Kids Back to School Back Pack Program, Elders 1 day Bazaar, VAFCS 2 day Craft Fair, Kids Christmas. VAFCS also seeks volunteers to assist with daily activities for the youth, family and elders programs.
Since its inception in 1897, YWCA Metro Vancouver has worked tirelessly to achieve women's equality.
Today, the YWCA is one of Metro Vancouver's largest and most diversified non-profit organizations. Our holistic, intergrated programs and services help lift women and families out of poverty, provide the best start for children and create new opportunities for education, employment and leadership.

The BC Wrongful Death Law Reform Society is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Society Act of BC. Its goal is to change the law in British Columbia, which currently denies justice to the survivors of children, the elderly and many people with disabilities killed by the careless or intentional acts of another.
We are independent and our policies and campaigning objectives are set by our membership and board.
We are non-profit and all proceeds are put back into achieving our campaigning objectives.
We are non-party political.

We provide early intervention therapy services to children under 6, key worker programme, social skills development programme, brain injury programme, and a supported child development programme for children who attend childcare or preschool.
The Bicycle Valet is a social enterprise run by the non-profit charitable organization, Better Environmentally Sound Transportation (BEST). Our goal is to eliminate barriers to sustainable transportation, in this case by providing a safe place for people to keep their bicycles (and bicycle accessories).
This summer we're partnering with the Vancouver Police Department and Project 529 at Granville Island to try out a new project, attacking bike theft from as many different angles as possible. We'll have our valet open 7 days/week, be educating the public on best locking practices, registering bikes with Project 529, collecting data on current locking practices, as well as conducting a survey looking at transportation choices made by all people traveling to Granville Island.
About youth biis
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth Business Innovative Idea Startups (Youth BiiS) Program is an initiative funded by the Government of Canada through the Canada-BC Job Fund to empower eligible young adults between 18 and 29 in their process for self-employment / business startup in Metro Vancouver. Youth are screened into the Youth BiiS Program based on their ability to meet the eligibility criteria and the viability of their business.
Our goal
As one of the leading social service providers and with years of experience in entrepreneurial skills training in British Columbia, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth BiiS strives to support highly motivated young adults with interest and aptitude for business to obtain the skills and training required to be successful in self-employment / entrepreneurship.
Youth BiiS takes advantage of experienced business coaches and emphasizes on a need-based approach in the programming. The program flexibility and on-going participant intake ensure that participants focus their time and energy on activities that support them to achieve their career goals.
For 26 years, the Harmony Arts Festival, presented by Odlum Brown Limited, has been one of the North Shore’s more popular community events. The festival draws crowds from all over the Lower Mainland to celebrate a harmonious balance of visual, culinary and performing arts on the spectacular West Vancouver waterfront. Whether it’s world-class musical performances, inspiring visual art, mouth-watering gastronomic events or simply the natural beauty of the setting that gets your heart beating a little faster, there is something for everyone at the Harmony Arts Festival.
The Harmony Arts Festival takes place in West Vancouver along the waterfront on Argyle Avenue, from 14th Street to 16th Street. Festival sites include John Lawson Park, Millennium Park, the Music Box and the Ferry Building Gallery. The 10-day festival attracts some 130,000 visitors. Strong sponsorship support, artist participation and volunteers have helped to build and define the Harmony Arts Festival.

For more than 130 years, The Salvation Army has had the privilege of serving vulnerable people in communities across Canada. Last year, we helped over 1.8 million people in the Vancouver area. The Salvation Army not only provides the necessities of life such as food, clothing and shelter, but our programs address needs such as language barriers, loneliness, unemployment and family challenges.
The British Columbia Lions Society for Children With Disabilities has been a registered charitable organization since 1947. You may also know us as Easter Seals. Under both names, our mandate is to support children with disabilities throughout British Columbia and the Yukon.
We are dedicated to enriching the lives of children with disabilities. We are committed to doing all we can to enhance their lives. Our vision for the future is to continue building specialized services and facilities and challenging young hearts and minds as well. Giving children with disabilities self-esteem, self-confidence and a sense of independence is what we are all about.
This kind of dedication takes patience, determination, courage and significant financial support. British Columbians can contribute to the BC Lions Society through a variety of special events, annual appeals and legacy gifts. Aquafit for All Association is a non-profit organization in Vancouver. Our mission is to develop and provide affordable aquatic/aquatic exercise opportunities for individuals with disabilities and/or injuries of all ages.
