ProChoices, an affordable counselling clinic in downtown Vancouver, is a feminist, grassroots non-profit that is committed to providing accessible radical narrative therapy as well as training and certification for university students and working professionals.
The labyrinth at St. Paul’s Church is a walking meditation space. Based on the medieval floor pattern at Chartres Cathedral in France, it features a singular path in to the centre of the space and back out again.  The ancient rite of waking a labyrinth can be a way to quiet the mind, find balance, encourage insight and reflection.
The labyrinth is open to all people as a meditative, spiritual practice and cross-cultural tool of well-being.
Regular operating hours with walking in silence, to recorded or live music.
Tues to Fri : 8:30 am to 9:30am
Sat : 10am to 12 noon
Sun : 9:30am to 12:30pm
2nd and last Friday : 7pm to 9pm
Free admission. Donations welcome. Chairlift accessible.

Ignite the Warmth Society is a grassroots, registered non-profit organization aiming to bring awareness to the issues of homelessness and poverty through three main fronts:Â facilitate, educate, and communicate. Our goal is to explore how we can begin to eliminate that stigma of homelessness and how students can engage with the issues of poverty that exist in our own neighbourhood.

Located in the heart of North Vancouver, Silver Harbour Seniors' Activity Centre is a recreational centre designed to inspire and enhance the physical and mental well-being of adults 55 plus. We offer a wide range of social, creative, educational, and physical activities as well as numerous services for seniors. S.U.C.C.E.S.S., our primary service delivery entity, was founded in 1973 and incorporated in 1974 as a non-partisan and non-profit charitable organization. Initially founded to assist new Canadians of Chinese descent to overcome language and cultural barriers, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. has evolved into a multicultural, multi-service agency assisting people at all stages of their Canadian experience.
Today, the organization is recognized as one of British Columbia’s largest social service providers. With over 20 locations, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. proudly services local communities in Greater Vancouver, Fort St. John and overseas in Taipei, Taiwan and Seoul, Korea. Through advocacy, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. is also recognized as a prominent voice of positive social change.
Guided by policies envisioned by a board of volunteer directors elected by the membership, over 400 professional staff and 2,000 volunteers deliver a multitude of services in the areas of settlement, employment, health and housing as well as business, auto insurance, economic, community and social development.
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Multi-Level Care (MLC) Society was incorporated in 1995 to deliver a continuum of care to seniors. With support from Vancouver Coastal Health, S.U.C.C.E.S.S. MLC Society manages and operates Chieng’s Adult Day Centre, two assisted living residences, Harmony House and Austin Harris Residence as well as a multi-level care facility, Simon K.Y. Lee Seniors Care Home.
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Foundation was incorporated in 2001 to raise funds essential for under-funded and non-funded programs as well as to manage endowments on behalf of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and S.U.C.C.E.S.S. MLC Society. Annual major fundraising events include the Gala Dinner, Charity Golf Tournament and the “Walk with the Dragon,” one of Vancouver’s largest community-based fundraisers which draws over 12,000 individual and corporate participants.

Organization Mission Statement
The ME|FM Society of BC is a charity, run by patients, carers and their families, formed to help and support patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) and/or Fibromyalgia (FM).
Our society works to help ME and FM patients in British Columbia improve their health and quality of life by providing information about these illnesses, and guidance on how to seek and obtain support, appropriate medical help and treatments. Position Description
The ME|FM Society of BC is seeking a volunteer to assist us with our social media presence and contributions to the online community. This role is ideal for someone looking to break into the Marketing and Social Media scene, have an impact in healthcare, and give back to a vulnerable population facing multiple barriers.
We are looking for a creative and social media savvy individual to coordinate the Society’s online activities. Your aim will be to implement a cutting edge social media strategy that raises awareness of Society work, and coordinate the regular management and content creation for the Society’s social media platforms (predominantly Facebook and Website, but we are open to others).
The ME|FM Marketing volunteer will:
- Provide information about services and supports for ME or FM patients on our online platforms
- Promote donation drives annually
- Provide basic education about the illness and resources for the online community
- Create & update a cutting edge social media strategy
- Implement bold, new ideas to raise awareness of the Society’s work
- Maintain a focus on innovative approaches in social media engagement.
This position is ongoing, with no set start or end date, and most of the work can be done remotely. We are looking for a team member who wants to stay and grow with us long term.
Preferred skills
- Have interest in or be willinging to learn website management
- Interest in social media content development
- Experience/interest with implementing social media strategies
- An eagerness to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- The ability to respond to communications in a timely manner
- Highly experienced in social media tools and implementation of social media strategies
- Some experience working in social media, communication and marketing related field
Qualifications
- Be 16+ years of age
- Reliable access to a computer & internet
- Individual who enjoys being online & creating content
Role suitable for
- Individuals who have ME or FM
- Individuals who are caregivers for those who have ME or FM
- Individuals who have an interest in working in communications
Additional Information
- Must read training manual and be familiar with the website
- Must sign confidentiality agreement
- Must meet with Administrator (phone) before starting volunteer work
Time Commitment
- The position requires approximately 1-2 hours of work per week
