Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret is an artist collective of professional and emerging artists based in East Vancouver. We create, perform and engage our community in home spun tales within elaborate worlds of found-object, bygone aesthetic, hosting journeys of re-discovery of old treasures and stories well known to our hearts. Our crew are many — storytellers, dancers, producers, multi-media artists, puppeteers, musicians, painters and makers of all kinds — and our extended community is enormous. We welcome you as a part of it, and thank you for keeping alive the places where magic still exists.

Welcome to the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals - dedicated to the encouragement, instruction and celebration of young musicians in Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland.
With an esteemed heritage dating back to the Knights of Pythias in 1923, and under the attentive stewardship of the Kiwanis Club of Vancouver since 1960, ours is now B.C.'s premier music festival, offering professional adjudication to some 7,500 students in high school bands and choirs, and in the private study of classical voice, music theatre, piano, strings, brass, woodwinds and chamber music. In recent years several solo instrument catetories have been added and include: classical guitar; harp and Chinese Ethnic instruments making ours a truly multi-cultural event. Especially gifted students can go on to compete at the Provincial and National levels.
In 2009, with continued support from the Vancouver Kiwanis Club, we became a separate Society. We also greatfully "acknowledge the financial support of the Province of British Columbia" for their award of a Community Gaming Grant.
We know helping to foster an appreciation for music, hard work and commitment in one child positively impacts not just their lives but the future of our community and our world. That's why even when we hear a song sung a little off-key or a few missed notes -- it's all music to our ears.
Deep Cove Stage Society began in 1974 and we have been producing excellent community theatre for over 40 years.
Deep Cove Stage, along with First Impressions Theatre, the Seymour Art Gallery and Deep Cove Heritage Society worked for over 5 years to raise money to build the Deep Cove Cultural Centre. The Centre opened in 1991.
Deep Cove Stage Society proudly presents 4 productions a year, including our traditional panto which we have been presenting for over 30 years.
Doors Open Vancouver (DOV) is a free public festival that offers special behind-the-scenes access to interesting and unusual buildings in Vancouver not normally open to the public. This unique experience connects residents with the buildings they know and love, invites them discover new ones, and encourages curiosity and conversation about Vancouver’s built form, history, heritage, and culture.
The Hellenic Congress is an organization that fosters education, communication, and cooperation between Hellenic Canadians and other ethnic groups, and promotes the development of just and equitable policies and legislation concerning all citizens. The Congress encourages and promotes the retention and development of Hellenism in British Columbia within the multicultural context of Canada.
Italian Day on The Drive is a vibrant cultural street festival celebrating Italian culture, heritage and respective immigrant contributions in Vancouver. Commercial Drive, also known as The Drive, is home to the annual festival which transforms the street into a lively 14 block, vehicle free, celebration and community festa. Since Italian Day’s return in 2010, the event has grown significantly. Today, Italian Day on The Drive represents the largest one day cultural street festival in the city – and perhaps in Canada – drawing over 350,000 enthusiastic attendees of all cultures and ages. It is a multi-cultural and community embrace under the Italian Day umbrella offering over 200 street participants comprised of: sponsors, merchants, retail booths, food vendors and restaurant patios, as well as stages with live music and theatre, street performers, classic cars, activities and displays, children’s amusement zones and more.
Vancouver Opera is the second largest opera company in Canada. It is regarded worldwide for its fine mainstage productions; for its country-leading education programs, which have reached more than 1.6 million children and their families in more than 40 years; for its innovative and award-winning community programs; and for forging groundbreaking cross-cultural creative partnerships that have brought opera to new generations of Canadians.
The Vancouver Police Museum and archives is an independent museum run by the Vancouver Police Historical Society, a registered charity. The museum’s foundations began in celebration of the Vancouver Police Department’s centennial anniversary in 1986 and have since expanded beyond the blue lens of local law enforcement to include the history of the Vancouver Coroner’s Services and the historic City Analyst Laboratory that houses the museum. All admission and donations support museum programming and exhibitions.
The Vancouver Fringe is an 11-day theatre extravaganza, hosting over 800 shows from 90 different artists, and attracting upwards of 40,000 attendees.
The mission statement of the the Legacy 150 Celebrations (BC) Society is to observe, commemorate, and celebrate Canada's democracy, harmony, and values which promote, advocate, and support Canadian diversity, multiculturalism, and heritage through educational, cultural, and outreach activities.
• Plan a multicultural festival and a series of regional drumming events that will occur simultaneously across Canada, to form a dynamic national drumming event occurring on July 1st
• Make sure that the events are multicultural and inclusive by inviting participation from all communities
• Showcase the multicultural diversity of Canada through various multicultural performances and engage the public to participate as artists and drummers
Asian-Canadian Special Events Association is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that creates sustainable projects in the areas of arts and culture, and works with partners across British Columbia, Canada, and internationally. Our three mandates: 1. Community Engagement, 2. Fostering New Artistic and Cultural Expressions, and 3. Platform to Learn and Share.
ACSEA has a long history of curating and producing large events, including a very successful partnership with Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Cultural Olympiad. Our signature events are spread throughout the year: the end of winter LunarFest, end summer TAIWANfest and IPACI, and a brand new event in partnership with Canadian Heritage and Canada 150 We Are Canadians, Too!
