South Hill Education Centre

At South Hill Education Centre, our mission is to provide high-quality, accessible and effective academic programs to our students in a friendly and supportive adult environment.

South Hill Education Centre is a large adult centre; we offer a comprehensive program from basic literacy and numeracy skills through Grade 12 courses. The Centre serves a great diversity of students – from ages 16 to seniors; from many different language and ethnic groups; and from communities throughout the Lower Mainland. A very large number of our students were born outside of canada and speak English as a second or third language.

South Hill offers flexible programs that provide students with the opportunity to pursue their academic goals in a variety of ways. We run four quarters per year (September, November, February and April) and a summer term in July/August.

This year-round program, which includes evening and weekend courses, allows students to attend part-time or full-time. As well, students generally have a choice of multiple sections of each course.

Students at South Hill work with an academic advisor to develop and individual graduation plan and can choose from a number of learning options: scheduled classroom courses; self-paced literacy foundations programs; a variety of study packages, tutorials and study groups; web-based courses; and a Youth program housed in a separate building.

South Hill has 70 staff and approximately 2500 students registering each term. With five terms a year, we serve over 12,500 students per year.
