You’ll meet in the afternoon, once per week for 90-minute sessions over a 10-week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games.As a Math Mentor, you areAdults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender-diverse individuals.Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.Able to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for either 90-minute in-person sessions or 60-minute virtual sessions.As a Mentoring with Math volunteer, you are asked to enroll in a minimum of two 10-week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.Math Mentees areChildren in grades 3-7 who demonstrate a need for assistance in math at their grade level.From families who are not otherwise able to access academic support outside of school.TrainingYou will be supported throughout your match by one of our experienced case workers, also known as a Mentoring Coordinator.Math Mentors are provided with a JUMP Math workbook.No prior experience working with children is necessary. The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is recruiting volunteers (ages 19-35) to join our inaugural Next Gen Action Council, a national group of emerging leaders helping shape how Gen Z and Millennials connect with the cancer cause through advocacy, community building, fundraising, storytelling, and digital engagement. This isn't your typical volunteer opportunity. You'll have a seat at the table, collaborate with other driven young professionals and community leaders, and influence initiatives designed for your generation.
