Treasurer for small educational charity

Work from home, by computer with our small, all-volunteer, registered Canadian charity and support the education of bright, financially poor youth in Kenya, E. Africa. (High school is not free in Kenya.)

KEEF's present volunteer Treasurer lives on Vancouver Island but travels often to Vancouver and would be available for orientation/consultation.

Our Board meets, via Zoom, once a month for approximately one hour. Our Annual General Meting is also via Zoom.

Time commitment is about 3 hours a week, with more time needed around the AGM ((early Fall) and year-end (June 30).

Skills needed:

Computer aware person with good spoken and written English

Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, Keela customer relations system (for electronically receipting donations)

Limited manual recording on spread sheets

Tasks include:

Make bank deposits

Arrange bank transfers to our office in Kenya about 4 times a year

Manually enter transfers from monthly donors on Keela system

Manually record a limited number of donations by cheque or bank draft

In co-operation with volunteer retired CPA. provide input to annual report to CRA and to KEEF's AGM

Manually record new students and scholarship sponsor(s) on spreadsheet
