MHHS is supporting the Racist Incident Helpline, a toll-free, accessible service established in partnership with United Way BC 211. The helpline was created for people who have been subjected to discrimination based on the colour of their skin, culture, ethnicity or place of origin.
We are looking to recruit and train volunteers, including past victims of racism, who have studies or practical experience in the social or human sciences, mental health, community development, or a related field, to become peer supporters.
Volunteers will be be able to provide 1:1 peer support and share resources/tools with participants (up to 5 individual sessions offered by phone or virtually).
