The Salvation Army (Volunteer Food Driver)

• Background/police check required
• Appropriate for volunteers aged between 18 and 55

At the Salvation Army, we welcome neighbours into a community of hope by providing food programs to those in need. With your help, we will receive the food donations required for us to make a difference in the lives of many

Shifts:

• June 17 -21
• July 2
• July 15 – 19
• August 12 – 16
• August 19 – 23
• September 23 – 27
• October 14 – 18

*If you cannot volunteer for all mornings, even one morning would be great.

Location: Multiple locations (You will drive our vehicle to go to different locations for food delivery/pick-up. More details will be provided as requested).

Requirements:

• (Only for drivers) Hold a valid driver’s license – class 5 (You will be asked to provide a copy of your Driver’s License)
• (Only for drivers) Hold a Clean Driving Record (Please obtain the Driver’s abstract from ICBC https://www.icbc.com/driver-licensing/getting-licensed/Your-driving-record)
• In good health and be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs
• Consent to TSA submitting a Criminal Records Check (There is NO fee for this check)
• Be able to communicate in English
• Above the age of 19
• Carry out the position in a conscientious, courteous and safe manner

Major Duties:

• Drive The Salvation Army Vehicle
• Be able to pick up and deliver items individually as needed
• As part of The Salvation Army Boundless Vancouver team to communicate with our donors and partners regarding donation delivery and pick-up
