Opportunity Description:

Who we are

The C.O.D.E. Initiative is an organization dedicated to increasing diversity in both the education and tech industries. Since 2017, we have provided coding and STEM workshops to neurodiverse children (youth who identify with being on the Autism Spectrum or having ADD/ADHD, GAD, or any other exceptionality) and underrepresented youth across Canada. Our mission is to cultivate inclusive and supportive environments for children to learn, explore and empower themselves in.

Position Summary

We are looking for a dedicated and mission-driven individual to spearhead our Grants and Sponsorships Department this Fall! This is a part-time paid position that will run from January until April, with possibility of extension contingent upon grant funding.

This candidate will cultivate and enact grant and partnership projects with philanthropic initiatives.  In addition, the ideal candidate will lead a team to build The C.O.D.E. Initiative’s portfolio of partners and funding sources using strong networking and writing skill sets. If you have expertise in connecting with businesses and philanthropic initiatives, applying for large-scale grants, and are looking to grow with a rapidly expanding and fast-paced business, come join our team!

Roles and Responsibilities

– Prospect and identify large-scale funding sources that The C.O.D.E. Initiative is deemed eligible to apply for

– Prepare applications and proposals by gathering and formatting information + writing mission-driven and compelling grant drafts

– Work closely with the co-founders to validate and execute repeatable grant application processes with strategic funding allocation solutions

– Identify and collaborate with grant committee members and other key stakeholders in order to establish strong relationships with philanthropic initiatives

– Identify and facilitate long-lasting partnerships with tech-based organizations to increase our already growing involvement in the tech and education sectors

We wouldn’t be where we are today if it wasn’t for our team of dedicated and driven individuals. Because of our team, we’ve delivered over 200 workshops to over 600 children in just four years, creating the first ever community in Canada that supports growth in tech for passionate neurodiverse youth. But, our growth doesn’t end here. In fact, the opportunity for growth here is endless!

Qualifications

This is a big role to fill in, and while the experience listed below would be beneficial to the company, we highly value someone who is dedicated to learn and grow with us, one who thrives in a start-up environment: fast-paced, high-energy, and filled with endless possibilities. We are looking for someone who is proactive and is passionate about our mission. If you don’t know an answer, you will find it!

Skills/Highlights

In addition, here are the skillsets that would be beneficial for the ideal candidate to have:

– Working towards completing/completed a Bachelor’s Degree

– Excellent writing, communication, and networking skills

– Experience with grant/proposal writing

– Ability to develop strong, long-lasting business relationships
