Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA) is a volunteer-run charity cat/kitten rescue serving Vancouver and other surrounding municipalities in the Lower Mainland since 2000. Our Operations Centre in Vancouver is our headquarters and transition center where rescued cats are nursed to health before being placed in one of our 550 volunteer foster homes. Each year, we find forever-homes for 1200+ cats and kittens.
VOKRA’s mission is:

We are a passionate, volunteer-driven charity with extensive cat care experience. POSITION SUMMARY
The Graphic Designer will support the Fundraising Marketing Team by creating compelling graphics for campaigns, ongoing initiatives and special projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports various teams and creative functions by:
Conceptualizing and designing ideas and concepts for various projects, including social media content, the Annual Walk for the Kitties, as well as other campaigns and initiatives.
Communicating with team members to understand project requirements, provide design updates, and contribute to project ideation.
Organizing and maintaining design files and assets to ensure easy access for all team members.
Ensures all creative materials are accurate and engaging by:
Ensuring consistency across all design materials to reinforce brand recognition
Creating high-quality graphics, illustrations, and multimedia elements that effectively convey the desired message.
Applying a deep understanding of color theory to create harmonious and engaging color schemes.
Retouching and making appropriate edits to images, ensuring quality in print and digital media.
As part of the Fundraising Marketing team and under the guidance and direction of the Fundraising Manager, works independently as well as part of a team.
The work is performed entirely remotely, except for 1 to 2 in-person meetings per year.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a creative role or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
Proven experience in graphic design, with a portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
Proficient with various design tools such as Adobe Suite and Canva.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout.
Ability to work effectively as a part of a team, or independently, with a positive attitude.
Strong time management skills.
The ability to volunteer 5 hours min per week.
