Opportunity Description:

This position involves volunteers helping to porter wheelchair bound elders to and from the activity space to help with the various social activities we offer our residents. Volunteers under the direction of a Rehab Assistant, will help with the set up and take down of the activity, and generally assist the residents with the playing of the games and other activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Able to assist elders who have physical and/or cognitive challenges.
• Physically capable of pushing elders in wheelchairs and carrying out physical tasks as required.
• Able to communicate well in verbal and written English.
• Friendly, reliable, patient and respectful.
• Able to follow direction and enjoy teamwork.
• Willingness to listen, learn and develop effective ways to interact with elders.
• Sincere interest in the social needs elders.
• Want to have FUN!
