Are you a leader and team player looking for opportunities to make a positive impact in your community?

Retail Pin Box Leaders manage a team of volunteers to distribute and collect retail pin boxes to high-traffic locations in their community.  A successful volunteer in this role will be confident in leading a strong team of volunteers by motivating, inspiring and encouraging them to help raise much needed funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contact, support, and work with Retail Pin volunteers on your team
  • Provide progress updates, share concerns and develop plans to ensure that volunteers are enjoying their experience and targets are being met
  • Assign volunteers to confirmed pin box locations
  • Share training resources and provide on-the-job coaching and support to Pin Distribution Volunteers
  • Manage the delivery and return of all Daffodil resources
  • Participate in campaign debrief

TRAINING & SUPPORT

  • Volunteer Handbook: provided by the Volunteer Engagement team
  • Role-specific training: with the addition of online resources available for review
  • Regular meetings with the Staff Partner and Project Manager

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Access and use of a reliable vehicle is required for this role
  • Experience in volunteerism, personal or professional fundraising, sales, and/or communications, and campaign execution
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Project management experience would be an asset

 

Volunteers must be at least 19 years of age for this position due to the scope of the role and responsibilities.

 

COMMITMENT 

  • February – May.
  • Approximately 10 hours per month (will increase to approximately 15 hours per month from mid-March and into April).
  • Flexibility during busy times of the campaign is requested.
