Opportunity Description:

West Coast Beach Volleyball Society (WeCoBeVo) will again be the benefactor of a donation from Volleyball BC, via the proceeds of the Beer & Food Garden at the 2018 Vancouver Open Pro Beach Volleyball Tournament.  What a great way to volunteer, on the shores of Kits Beach – one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! – enjoying the sunshine and great atmosphere.

WeCoBeVo likes to put in sweat equity for its fundraising and donation efforts!  We need volunteers to help us serve beverage & food, in 3-hour shifts on Saturday, July 14 and Sunday July 15.  You can only volunteer for one shift, but if you volunteer for more then you will receive a food voucher to claim for chef-prepared food (valued $13-$15).  Even if you only do volunteer one shift you will receive 2 beverage tickets (two for each shift volunteered).

Three types of volunteers needed:

“Food runners” – the main kitchen will be on the grassy side of the Kits boardwalk. Patrons can order food from within the beer garden and also pick up, as a result we need “food runners” between the kitchen and the bar.  You DO NOT need your Serving It Right certification but you must be at least 19 years of age to enter the beer garden.
Beverage servers – absolutely NO experience is needed for this gig.  A patron simply tells you what beverage they want, you take their ticket and give them a can.  All beverages are in a can so no pouring.  No checking of IDs as that is done by security and no processing money as patrons can only obtain beverages using tickets purchased from another volunteer station.  You must have your Serving It Right certification, which takes about 30 minutes to complete and the $35 cost will be reimbursed to you next day upon providing the emailed copy of your certification.
Ticket sellers – we will have one station for patrons to purchase beverage tickets by cash or credit card.  No prior experience necessary.
