Opportunity Description:

KidSport BC is the charity partner for the Vancouver Whitecaps FC 50/50 program.

We are looking for volunteers (age 19 and older) who are social, energetic and interested in supporting our cause by selling 50/50 tickets at Whitecaps FC home matches. This opportunity requires volunteers to stand and walk the stadium for several hours to promote and sell 50/50 tickets.

Volunteers will work in assigned sections to sell tickets before and during the match. Ticket sales end at the 60th minute of the match and then KidSport staff conduct the draw. We use handheld machines to take credit card payments (no cash is accepted).

Location: BC Place Stadium, 777 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver

Volunteer Requirements

All volunteers must be 19 years of age or older.
Have a positive attitude and a good command of the English language.
Be comfortable interacting with the public is a busy stadium environment.
Physically capable of being on the concourse and/or moving around the stadium for three hours in succession.
Have no criminal record.

What to expect
Approximate Time Commitment (~4 hours)

New volunteers arrive at the stadium 2 hours before doors open for required training.
Returning volunteers arrive at the stadium no later than 30 minutes before doors open.
Upon arrival, volunteers check in and receive their location assignment.
50/50 tshirts, aprons and sales equipment are provided.
Volunteers sell tickets from the time the doors open one hour before kick off until the 60th minute of the match.
Volunteers return to the 50/50 office to return equipment. At this time, volunteers are free to go.

Please note: Volunteers must be 19 years of age or older and are responsible for their own transportation to and from the stadium and will not be reimbursed for any associated costs they may incur. Prizes will be awarded for sales and participation.
