Hello! Hope you're doing well. I'm Aparna Mody. I work at The Salvation Army (Northshore Ministry) as a Kettle Coordinator. As you may know, the Christmas Kettle Campaign is our largest fundraising drive of the year. With more than 2,000 kettle locations across Canada, the kettle not only raises critical funds but also boosts the Army's visibility and promotes awareness about the causes we support. To continue to make the campaign a success, we rely heavily on kind-hearted and compassionate volunteers who would be willing to give a few hours of their day to be a: - Kettle Host - Driver/Supervisor Should you come across any of your members who'd be interested in participating, please have them reach out to me or they could walk up to our office to have a quick chat too. We would very much appreciate your help in sending volunteers our way towards this mighty cause. We are of course very open to hearing your suggestions and receiving any leads from you as well. The Salvation Army's Christmas Kettle campaign will be up and running from the 14th of November until the 23rd of December from Mon-Sat (10-6 p.m.) at multiple locations around the North Shore. The Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre (MPCPC) is a volunteer-driven non-profit governed by a community-based board. The MPCPC promotes crime prevention and safety in partnership with residents, community agencies and the Vancouver Police Department. Additionally, by acting as a liaison between the Vancouver Police Department and community agencies the MPCPC works to create a safe and inclusive neighborhood while supporting the community's most vulnerable. The MPCPC engages the community in volunteer-driven programs and other community-based services. Building on that, the MPCPC operates a warm and welcoming storefront to connect residents with those CPC programs and other community-based services.

The Delview Leos Club is a youth-run service organization, as a youth branch of Lions International. We work in the community through volunteer events to build leadership, new opportunities, and experience for the future. Our members, aged 13-18, work diligently in the Delta community to create a better community and improve our futures.

The GWCPC The Grandview-Woodland Community Policing Centre is dedicated to providing crime prevention assistance and education to the Commercial Drive corridor and surrounding area. ​Members of the community are encouraged, through education and engagement in volunteering with the GWCPC, to become active participants in increasing safety awareness and decreasing opportunities for crime to occur. #SaveHastings is a non-profit charity that focuses on supporting the homeless population of Hastings street. We have a market connection which supplies us food. Throughout the year we plan to donate this food by handing them out along Hastings Street on a monthly basis. We also curate and distribute packages called "Hastings Hope Kits" which contain essential toiletries and items to the homeless population of Hastings St., Vancouver!

The Canadian Centre for Men and Families is a mental health and social service hub delivering programs and services for boys, men, fathers and their families. Our vision focuses on three critical areas: 1. Reduce suicide among men at high-risk through intervention programs that confront the barriers that men face. 2. Empower fathers undergoing separation and divorce through legal clinics and fathering groups that strengthen the father-child relationship, while working to promote positive social attitudes toward fatherhood 3. Support men who are experiencing domestic abuse and work with other agencies to improve services for boys and men. In addition to delivering front-line programs and services to families in crisis, we undertake evidence-based research, host public education and awareness activities, and work to improve public policies to better support all Canadians.

St. Augustine's Anglican Church operates a number of community initiatives including; Second Hand Rows - our community thrift store, as well as our Food Ministry which hosts a weekly food hub program for groceries and a weekly community meal.

We are a non-profit childcare society operating 5 locations in the Richmond and South Vancouver area.

For almost 50 years, Tonari Gumi has been building relationships and connections with the Japanese Canadian community throughout Metro Vancouver. From its early days as a group of Japanese Canadian community volunteers, Tonari Gumi has always been strongly focused on being a supportive community organization. It continues to serve the needs of its members and wider community, helping them navigate life in Vancouver with greater independence. In addition, Tonari Gumi also helps them achieve health, wellbeing and happiness.

Second Harvest is the largest food rescue organization in Canada and a global thought leader in food recovery. We work across the supply chain from farm to retail to capture surplus food before it ends up in the landfill which negatively impacts our environment. Every year, we recover millions of pounds of nutritious, unsold food — focusing on protein, dairy and produce — which we rescue before it becomes waste. We redistribute it to a broad network of over 4,000 social service organizations. Supported by hundreds of corporations, foundations, and the community at large, we rescue and redistribute enough food to provide thousands of meals a day in Canada. Since 1985 we have rescued and delivered more than 177 million pounds of food, preventing over 75 million pounds of greenhouse gas equivalents from entering our atmosphere.
