French-Speaking Intergenerational Employment Mentor 50-Help someone move forward. Share what you know. Make your experience count.Do you speak French and have 50+ years of life and professional experience with a genuine desire to give back?Carrefour 50+ CB is looking for volunteer mentors aged 50 and over to support francophone job seekers under 50 as they navigate today’s changing labour market.This is an opportunity to turn your experience into practical support — while building meaningful connections across generations and contributing to the vitality of the francophone community in British Columbia.What will you do?As a volunteer mentor, you will participate in online weekly sessions alongside a member of the Carrefour 50+ employment team and other experienced mentors.Depending on your interests and experience, you may:Share practical advice based on your professional experienceHelp job seekers clarify their career goals and job-search strategiesReview and strengthen résumés and cover lettersShare insights about today’s workplace and recruitment practicesHelp participants prepare for job interviews through realistic simulationsProvide constructive, encouraging feedbackShare useful professional connections or resources when appropriateYou don't need to have all the answers. Your experience, perspective and ability to listen are what make the difference.Two ways to contribute🤝 Group Mentoring SessionsSupport two job seekers alongside other experienced mentors. Each participant presents their career goals and current job-search situation, followed by personalized advice and practical action ideas.🎤 Interview SimulationsHelp a job seeker practise for an upcoming interview through a realistic mock interview, followed by constructive feedback on their strengths and opportunities for improvement.Time commitment2 to 3 hours per weekApproximately 25–35 weeks per year, depending on your availabilityFlexible scheduling that respects your holidays and travel plansOnline participation via computer or tabletReliable internet connection requiredWho we're looking forWe welcome francophone or French-speaking volunteers aged 50+ who have professional experience and would enjoy sharing their knowledge with the next generation.Previous experience as an employer, manager, professional, entrepreneur or hiring decision-maker is particularly valuable, but above all, we're looking for people who are good listeners, generous with their experience and committed to helping others move forward.Why become a mentor?Because experience is more valuable when it is shared.By volunteering with Carrefour 50+, you can:Make a tangible difference in someone's employment journeyShare knowledge that can genuinely help another person succeedBuild meaningful intergenerational connectionsContribute to the francophone community in BCStay connected, engaged and useful while giving backPractise your French with other Francophone peopleYour career experience doesn't stop being valuable when you retire or change careers. Mentor·e intergénérationnel·le en emploi 50-Et si votre expérience professionnelle pouvait devenir le tremplin de quelqu’un d’autre ?Vous avez 50 ans ou plus, une expérience professionnelle riche et l’envie de la partager?Carrefour 50+CB recherche des mentor·es bénévoles de 50 ans et plus pour accompagner des personnes francophones de moins de 50 ans dans leur recherche d’emploi et les aider à mieux naviguer dans le monde du travail actuel.Une belle occasion de transmettre votre savoir, créer des liens entre les générations et contribuer concrètement à la vitalité de la francophonie en Colombie-Britannique.Votre rôleEn tant que mentor·e, vous participerez à des rencontres virtuelles hebdomadaires, aux côtés d’un membre de l’équipe Carrefour 50+ et d’autres mentor·es expérimenté·es.Selon vos intérêts et votre expérience, vous pourrez :partager vos conseils et votre expérience professionnelle;aider une personne à clarifier son objectif professionnel et sa stratégie de recherche d’emploi;contribuer à améliorer son CV ou sa lettre de motivation;partager votre connaissance du monde du travail et des pratiques de recrutement;participer à des simulations d’entrevue;offrir une rétroaction constructive et bienveillante;partager, lorsque pertinent, des ressources ou des contacts professionnels.Vous n’avez pas besoin d’avoir toutes les réponses. Votre écoute, votre expérience et votre regard professionnel peuvent déjà faire une réelle différence.Deux façons de contribuer🤝 Mentorat de groupeAccompagnez deux personnes en recherche d’emploi, avec d’autres mentor·es expérimenté·es. Après une présentation de leur parcours et de leurs objectifs, vous leur apporterez des conseils personnalisés et des pistes d’action concrètes.🎤 Simulations d’entrevueAidez une personne à se préparer à une entrevue grâce à une simulation réaliste, suivie d’une rétroaction constructive sur ses forces et ses pistes d’amélioration.Votre engagementDe 2 à 3 heures par semaineEnviron 25 à 35 semaines par année, selon vos disponibilitésUn horaire flexible qui respecte vos vacances et vos voyagesParticipation en ligneOrdinateur ou tablette et connexion Internet fiable requisQui recherchons-nous?Nous recherchons des personnes francophones ou francophiles de 50 ans et plus, possédant une expérience professionnelle et ayant envie de la mettre au service des autres.Une expérience comme employeur, gestionnaire, professionnel·le, entrepreneur·e ou responsable du recrutement est particulièrement pertinente.Mais surtout, nous recherchons des personnes qui aiment écouter, transmettre et encourager.Pourquoi devenir mentor·e?Parce que l’expérience prend encore plus de valeur lorsqu’elle est partagée.En devenant mentor·e bénévole, vous pourrez :avoir un impact concret sur le parcours professionnel d’une personne;transmettre des connaissances acquises au fil de votre carrière;créer des liens enrichissants entre générations;contribuer à la communauté francophone de la Colombie-Britannique;rester actif·ve, engagé·e et connecté·e.Votre expérience ne s’arrête pas lorsque votre carrière évolue.
