The Mount Pleasant BIA (Business Improvement Area) is a non-profit community based organization that focuses on improving and growing the neighbourhood in a healthy economic, cultural and sustainable way. We are the second oldest of the 22 BIA’s in the City of Vancouver, who represent the major commercial areas of the City. Operated under the auspices of the City of Vancouver, we represent approximately 400 businesses in the Main Street area as well as about 120 property owners. Our mandate is to create and enhanced business environment through marketing and promotions, special events such as street festivals, street beautification, working with local organizations and groups and addressing specific concerns of our membership such as fair commercial taxes.
