The Powell Street Festival Society is dedicated to cultivating and celebrating Japanese Canadian arts and culture! Our main focus is the production of the Powell Street Festival (PSF), now in its 39th year. It is the largest event of its kind in Canada and the longest running festival in Metro Vancouver.
The PSF includes musical performances, traditional dance, an amateur sumo wrestling competition, martial arts demonstrations, bonsai and ikebana exhibits, lots of Japanese food… and more! This year, the festival will be held August 1st and 2nd, in Oppenheimer Park.

Growth of the soul is our goal, and there are many ways to encourage that growth, such as through love, nature, healing our wounds, forgiveness, and service. The soul grows well when giving and receiving love. I nourish my soul daily by loving others and being vulnerable to their love. Love is, after all, a verb, an action word, not a noun.
