Swim Drink Fish works at the confluence of water, people, and storytelling, using community science, technology, and communications to connect people to water. Through a network of Community Water Monitoring Hubs, Swim Drink Fish has inspired, and continues to inspire, people to know and safeguard their local waters. Swim Drink Fish initiatives are active in 171 communities in 11 countries. As a volunteer-led group, the Swim Drink Fish vision of creating swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for everyone started with people. It’s this vision that has connected people to the water’s edge and given communities access to their local waters. Our vision has come to fruition, and continues to grow, thanks to the power of community-based action. We use the tools of a diverse group of passionate water lovers with the same goal in mind: swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for everyone. Our vision has never wavered, and that’s why the past is powering our present and the future, as we continue to look forward with people powering us there.

Founded in 1918, Nature Vancouver (formally known as Vancouver Natural History Society), offers a variety of activities with a focus on nature education, and enjoyment and conservation of natural environment. We have been a registered charity since 1974. We organize  EVENING PROGRAMS (from September to April), FIELD TRIPS (throughout the year),  an annual SUMMER CAMP and occasional  workshops, and more. The  BIRDING, BOTANY, GEOLOGY, MARINE BIOLOGY, and PHOTOGRAPHY Sections provide a greater focus in specific areas of nature. Nature Vancouver is also actively involved in CONSERVATION projects. Currently the projects include FALSE CREEK OYSTER SURVEYS and NEW BRIGHTON PARK RESTORATION. Members of Nature Vancouver contribute to CITIZEN SCIENCE through e-Bird and iNaturalist. Nature Vancouver has been a strong supporter of Young Naturalists’ Club of BC now known as NatureKIDS BC.  Whether you are just discovering the natural beauty of Vancouver and BC or are an experienced naturalist, we know you will enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie of Nature Vancouver.

VOKRA began in 2000 and is a Vancouver based cat rescue. We are a volunteer driven registered non-profit. VOKRA's mission is to end cat overpopulation and cat homelessness.  We rescue, heal, then home cats - first in our network of foster homes, then in carefully matched, loving, forever homes. We are a passionate, volunteer-driven charity with extensive cat care experience. We believe that no-kill is the only responsible approach, that TNR works, and that cats are awesome!

Earth Rangers is an environmental non-profit that empowers youth to take action for the environment. Our ER Teens program offers an opportunity for young Canadians aged 13-18 to take initiative for environmental causes they care about, such as wildlife conservation, climate change, sustainability, and more. By working remotely with staff, teens volunteer their time to complete an eco-action project of their choice; at home, at school, in their community, or online. Our flexible program ensures that teens can work at their own pace, while having the support and resources they need to make a positive impact.

Leash of Hope was founded by Danielle Main and Tessa Schmidt in 2014.Tessa and Danielle founded the Leash of Hope organization when it became increasingly obvious that there is still a major need for support for those with disabilities who want to live their lives independently. Danielle, who is legally blind, and Tessa, who lives with spastic cerebral palsy, have experienced the independence and confidence that a service dog can give to them and have done everything they can to change the lives of others who live with disabilities such as blindness, cerebral palsy, autism, PTSD and many other conditions. As a small organization, Leash of Hope can also meet the demand of clients with more complex needs and who might fall under multiple classifications. Prospective clients can also apply with their own dog. If the dog is deemed appropriate to become a service dog it is provided the tools needed with guidance from the program. The owner assisted training program also fills a much needed gap in the industry.

Companion Paws is dedicated to supporting Canadians in need through T.L.C.'s Companion Paws Therapy Dog Programs. TLC’s Companion Paws programs are available in all Provinces across Canada.

CircusWest Performing Arts Society presents CircusFest 2014 from November 6th-9th in some of Vancouver’s most reputable venues including The Cultch, PNE Garden Auditorium, Wise Hall and Sideshow Studios. CircusFest celebrates the incredible talent and skill of circus artists and performers from across the Pacific Northwest. The festival will bring the Circus Community together over 4 spectacular days of performance, discussion, installation and more. CircusFest is the first of its kind in Vancouver and we need dedicated volunteers like you to help it be the best of its kind! Participation in the festival gives volunteers the chance to hone their skills, establish friendships, engage with Circus Arts and network within the community.
