Our Big Brothers Community Program pairs you with a Little Buddy based on personality and shared interests to build a supportive one-to-one relationship based on trust, connection, and fun!Our matches spend two or more hours once per week doing free or low- cost activities they enjoy most and are paired for a minimum of one year.SURREY, NOW IS THE TIME TO VOLUNTEER! Game On! Group Mentor

Through fun activity-based play, volunteers provide youth with the knowledge to make informed decisions about a range of healthy lifestyle practices.Groups meet once weekly for 90 minute sessions during weekday afternoons at schools/community centres and engage in life skills, communication, and social-emotional discussions to encourage healthy life- long habits. The program is led by 2-3 mentors to a group of Littles and runs once a season for 8 to 10 weeks.Our Group Mentors areMale, trans, and gender diverse individuals who are 18+.Reliable, consistent, dedicated, and respectful of others.Available to meet weekdays, once a week for 90-minute sessions between 2:30pm and 4:30pm.Our Game On! volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.Our Group Mentees areBoys, trans, and gender diverse children and youth in grades 4 to 7.Youth who could benefit from building self-confidence and learning healthy lifestyle choices.Locations: Schools and Community Centres in Vancouver and Surrey.BenefitsOpportunities for free tickets or admission vouchers to Big Brothers matches.Make a positive impact on the community.Gain a sense of personal fulfillment by contributing to a child’s self-esteem.Stress relief and develop a more positive attitude.Greater productivity at work or school.Make a new friend!Questions? In-School Mentoring

Our In-School Mentoring Program pairs you with one elementary school student who you share common interests with.Matches spend one-hour once per week together on school grounds doing non-academic activities such as playing sports, games, creating art or just hanging out at the playground. Our matches are paired for the duration, or remainder, of the academic school-year.We are now accepting In-School Mentors for the 2025-26 school year starting in the Fall!Our Big Buddies areAdults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.Mentors who Little Buddies can talk to, learn from, and share experiences with.Available 1 hour per week during school hours (weekdays between 10am and 3pm).Our Little Buddies areStudents grade 1 to 7 nominated by teachers, staff or by themselves.Children who could use a bit of extra 1-on-1 attention, need to build confidence, or may have trouble connecting with peers.BenefitsOpportunities for free tickets or admission vouchers to Big Brothers matches.Make a positive impact on the community.Gain a sense of personal fulfillment by contributing to a child’s self-esteem.Stress relief and develop a more positive attitude.Greater productivity at work or school.Make a new friend!Questions? Math Mentor (Virtual or In-Person)

Fill out our Online Volunteer Application Form here: https://www.bigbrothersvancouver.com/volunteer-application-what-should-i-expect/Make a positive impact that you can see with local youth who struggle with numbers! Our Mentoring with Math Program is designed to strengthen the impact of tutoring by adding in the element of mentorship.You’ll meet once-a-week for 90 minute sessions during afternoons over a 10 week period, and work on numeracy, activities, and games. No previous experience with math is necessary for volunteers and all training is provided by Big Brothers. This program is offered virtually and in-person.Our Math Mentors areAdults aged 18+, inclusive of male, female, trans, and gender diverse individuals.Reliable, consistent, dedicated and respectful of others.Available to meet once weekly during weekday afternoons between 4:00pm and 5:30pm for 90-minutes for in-person sessions, or 60 minutes for virtual sessions.Our Mentoring with Math volunteers are asked to enroll in two 8-10 week terms as it's the best way to experience this fun program.Our Math Mentees areChildren in grades 3 to 7 who demonstrate a need for assistance in math at their grade level.From families who are not otherwise able to financially pursue academic support outside of school.LocationsVirtual program is offered Monday-Thursday between 4pm to 5pm.In-Person program is at a Surrey library on Tuesdays between 4pm to 5:30pm.BenefitsOpportunities for free tickets or admission vouchers to Big Brothers matches.Make a positive impact on the community.Gain a sense of personal fulfillment by contributing to a child’s self-esteem.Stress relief and develop a more positive attitude.Greater productivity at work or school.Make a new friend!Questions?
