We’re reaching out to 27,000 British Columbia seniors and their families to get first-hand feedback on the quality of their residential care and accommodations. The results from this survey will give residents and their families a voice. They will provide a road map for improvement of the quality of care and services provided to residents and their families in residential care. This project is being led by the BC Office of the Seniors Advocate, an independent office of the provincial government. The project is being managed by the BC Patient Centred Measurement Working Group and Providence Health Care. The project has been informed by the BC Office of the Seniors Advocate’s Long-Term Care Consultation Group. The project is working in partnership with all health authority owned and operated sites, as well as all contracted sites (private-for-profit and private not-for-profit). The project is working with a survey vendor, the National Research Corporation of Canada, to collect and collate the resident and most frequent visitor survey data. The interviews are volunteer-powered, with over 900 volunteers needed contributing their time and effort across BC.
Established more than a century ago to fight tuberculosis, the BC Lung Foundation was among the first to address the dangers of smoking, and to make the connection between air pollution and health. Today, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we continue the fight for lung health and air quality. We help fund vital research to advance 21st century medicine and other lung health initiatives, support lung patients and their caregivers, and educate British Columbians on how to safeguard their lung health. We also advocate for policies that protect air quality, which affects children and youth, adults and seniors. Together, they comprise the 1 in 5 British Columbians affected by a lung condition – asthma, COPD, pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer, among other diseases – and always, we offer Hope, Help and a Voice.
Since 1954, the BC Lions have been an influential member of the Canadian professional sports scene. For more than sixty years, the club has provided countless memories and six Grey Cup titles to a devoted and loyal fan base. Committed ownership, accomplished management and a winning team have helped propel the organization into a new era of sports entertainment.
The BC Highland Games is a non-profit, volunteer-run event.  The 89th BC Highland Games will be held June 20, 2020 at Lafarge Lake Park in Coquitlam.  The Games attracts more than 10,000 individuals, families, pipe bands, competitors, vendors, heavy event athletes, dancers, singers, Gaelic speakers and lots of artisans.  We had 180 volunteers in 2019, and we are now looking for one (or two) Volunteer Coordinators to run our crucial volunteer program.  All the templates and resources are available, including last year's Vol. Coordinator.  It's a job that starts now.

Improving Lives. Inspiring Courage. The BC Epilepsy Society is a provincially incorporated non-profit, and federally registered charitable organization dedicated to serving British Columbians living with epilepsy, and their families. Our Mission To empower, educate and support British Columbians living with epilepsy and their families, and support research to make their lives easier. Our History The BC Epilepsy Society was incorporated as a registered charity on August 17, 1959, under the leadership of pediatric neurologist Dr. Norman Auckland.
