BC’s first AIDS WALK was held in Vancouver in 1986 at a time when people were dying from the disease. Thirty-one years later, deaths from AIDS in BC have nearly been eradicated thanks to advances in pharmaceutical treatments and ongoing community support.

But that doesn’t mean life with HIV is always easy. The challenges are real: stigma, isolation, limited income, and the side effects of powerful medications depended on to stay alive. For too many PLHIV, living with HIV means hiding from discrimination.

The Scotiabank AIDS WALK to tHrIVe and Music Fest, shows PLHIV that they are not alone in their struggle.

ALS Canada Buck-A-Puck for ALS is a grassroots fundraising initiative that brings together a passion for hockey with an unwavering commitment to supporting the ALS Society of Canada’s (ALS Canada) research program across the country. We aim to create a lasting impact by raising awareness and vital funds to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

The concept is simple yet powerful: For every dollar raised, players will take a shot on net – whether in a game, on their own time at home, or playing with friends. Ten dollars equals ten shots, $100 equals 100 shots – you get the idea! Whether you’re cheering from the stands or following the game from the comfort of your home, you can participate in this fun-loving initiative by making a simple donation.

Arthritis Society Canada is a national health charity, fueled by donors and volunteers, with a mission to fight the fire of arthritis through research, advocacy, innovation, information and support.

The Aviation Leadership Foundation is national non-profit organization based in Vancouver that runs several on-going leadership development programs open to all individuals - both aviation and non-aviation oriented. Our vision is A Leader in Every Chair. We connect leaders, building community, and inspire possibility.

The BC Artisan Marketing Society (BCAMS) has undertaken the establishment of a fund that will provide scholarships to deserving emerging artisans so they may continue their post graduate education and training.

The fund is in its infancy, but will grow rapidly through public donations and sponsorships that the BCAMS will seek at the artisan market events it produces throughout the year.

Once the fund reaches a sustainable level, scholarship amounts will be announced by the BCAMS directors and application criteria will be posted and invitations to apply distributed throughout the artisan community. A panel of accomplished artisans will make the final selection of the winner, chosen from among successful applicants.

The BC Chapter of the American Marketing Association has been this province’s leading marketing source since 1955. As one of the most highly regarded chapters in North America, BCAMA was awarded with the prestigious international “Chapter of the Year” Award in each of the three years spanning 1994-1997, as well as numerous other awards over the last 20 years.

The BCAMA is made up of over 500 members, and has a contact database of over 3,000 BC marketing, advertising, and communications professionals. A non-profit association, BCAMA is made possible by a dedicated team of volunteers including Board Members, Committee Members, and Sponsors.
