VanCity Rook Society (Rook Music & Performing Arts Society) is dedicated to bringing music and performing arts in the form of workshops, technical practice, competitive performances and innovative programs and technological advancements. Our goal is to provide access to music and performing arts for all segments of the population in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. That includes participation with vulnerable children, youth and young adults mostly ignored due to cultural, medical or economic barriers. VanCity Rook believes in allowing all individuals from the above identified groups to achieve their full potential in music, art and technical design and choreography. Our programs will be designed to allow the societies program members to experience growth at their own pace and technical level. Our programs will allow each individual to maximize their ability and to showcase it through the societies knowledgeable and experienced staff, volunteers and instructors. All program members will be able to showcase their achievements either individually, or through team or group effort. VanCity Rook and its  programs are committed to providing not-for-profit showcase and exhibitions to all communities of the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. VanCity Rook will be committed to providing support services to the community through program involvement and event participation. Whether it is technical and exploration of music fundamentals or showcase, clinics and workshop exhibits, the society will take advantage of the opportunity to expand and promote the programs of the society and offer the community mutual benefit with program participation.

At the New Art Foundation of Vancouver, we organize events, carry out projects, and support artists with limited resources in navigating the rapidly evolving field of "new art." Our goal is to promote creative opportunities for all individuals. We aim to inspire and support a healthy environment for free expression.

Bard on the Beach is Western Canada’s largest not-for-profit, professional Shakespeare Festival. Presented in Vancouver’s Sen̓ákw/Vanier Park against a spectacular backdrop of mountains, sea and sky, the Festival offers Shakespeare plays, related dramas and special events in two modern performance tents from June through September, with an average attendance of 100,000. The Festival is known for its signature blend of high-quality artistic programming and a welcoming, informal experience for local residents and visitors from around the world. Bard Education offers year-round opportunities to play and explore Shakespeare, through programs for youth, emerging theatre artists, and our general community.

Founded in 1918, Nature Vancouver (formally known as Vancouver Natural History Society), offers a variety of activities with a focus on nature education, and enjoyment and conservation of natural environment. We have been a registered charity since 1974. We organize  EVENING PROGRAMS (from September to April), FIELD TRIPS (throughout the year),  an annual SUMMER CAMP and occasional  workshops, and more. The  BIRDING, BOTANY, GEOLOGY, MARINE BIOLOGY, and PHOTOGRAPHY Sections provide a greater focus in specific areas of nature. Nature Vancouver is also actively involved in CONSERVATION projects. Currently the projects include FALSE CREEK OYSTER SURVEYS and NEW BRIGHTON PARK RESTORATION. Members of Nature Vancouver contribute to CITIZEN SCIENCE through e-Bird and iNaturalist. Nature Vancouver has been a strong supporter of Young Naturalists’ Club of BC now known as NatureKIDS BC.  Whether you are just discovering the natural beauty of Vancouver and BC or are an experienced naturalist, we know you will enjoy the atmosphere and camaraderie of Nature Vancouver.

VOKRA began in 2000 and is a Vancouver based cat rescue. We are a volunteer driven registered non-profit. VOKRA's mission is to end cat overpopulation and cat homelessness.  We rescue, heal, then home cats - first in our network of foster homes, then in carefully matched, loving, forever homes. We are a passionate, volunteer-driven charity with extensive cat care experience. We believe that no-kill is the only responsible approach, that TNR works, and that cats are awesome!

Carousel Theatre for Young People (CTYP) empowers young people and families through meaningful, imaginative, and accessible theatrical experiences. The productions we create and present engage youth, families, and educators in live theatre and platform stories for and about communities that are underrepresented; they develop emotional literacy, stimulate community, encourage growth, and inspire minds in a unifying experience. CTYP focuses on introducing young minds to new ideas and enabling them to talk about them. Volunteering with CTYP gives you the opportunity to enrich and be enriched by Vancouver’s leading theatre for young audiences, creating a great experience for hundreds of diverse patrons from all walks of life.

Children’s Autism Federation of B.C. (CAFBC) was founded as a grassroots organization to hold the government accountable for policy decisions surrounding individual autism funding in British Columbia (B.C.). As we continue to navigate through the political and ethical issues surrounding any shift in a service delivery model, the Children’s Autism Federation of B.C. remains focused on ensuring that all autistic children and their families have their voices amplified and their needs understood. CAFBC will continue to hold the government accountable for any change that will negatively impact children in the autism community and continue to bring awareness to these issues. WHAT WE DO Children's Autism Federation of BC has focused on advocacy and support for a service delivery model that truly encompasses the needs of all autistic children. We are non-profit organization that receives no government funding. The primary focus being the importance of retaining individual funding and timely diagnosis. CAFBC also supports families throughout their pre to post-diagnosis journey. We have provided recommendations to the Government on a framework for children and youth with support needs. Most recently, CAFBC launched our Research and Support Division. This enables families to find resources and support within a one-stop-shop delivery model. Families may access support for the application of autism funding, advocacy-related resources or even autism-related recommendations.

Coast Mental Health has been helping people recover from mental illness since 1972. We operate 54 locations throughout Greater Vancouver and provide services to over 5,000 individuals annually. Coast Mental Health’s care is based on three pillars: - Housing: We take a “housing first” approach. Coast Mental Health connects people living with chronic mental illness or addictions with secure housing as an essential part of their recovery. Today, we provide a continuum of residential care services to almost 1,500 people at 54 sites throughout the lower mainland. - Support services: Through our support services, we help clients build on their strengths, access existing government and community resources, manage their health, and live richer lives. - Employment/education: Our employment and educational programs boost self-confidence, add meaning to client’s lives, and improve financial independence.

Hello! Hope you're doing well. I'm Aparna Mody. I work at The Salvation Army (Northshore Ministry) as a Kettle Coordinator. As you may know, the Christmas Kettle Campaign is our largest fundraising drive of the year. With more than 2,000 kettle locations across Canada, the kettle not only raises critical funds but also boosts the Army's visibility and promotes awareness about the causes we support. To continue to make the campaign a success, we rely heavily on kind-hearted and compassionate volunteers who would be willing to give a few hours of their day to be a: - Kettle Host - Driver/Supervisor Should you come across any of your members who'd be interested in participating, please have them reach out to me or they could walk up to our office to have a quick chat too. The Mount Pleasant Community Policing Centre (MPCPC) is a volunteer-driven non-profit governed by a community-based board. The MPCPC promotes crime prevention and safety in partnership with residents, community agencies and the Vancouver Police Department. Additionally, by acting as a liaison between the Vancouver Police Department and community agencies the MPCPC works to create a safe and inclusive neighborhood while supporting the community's most vulnerable. The MPCPC engages the community in volunteer-driven programs and other community-based services. Building on that, the MPCPC operates a warm and welcoming storefront to connect residents with those CPC programs and other community-based services.
