About TechInColour
TechInColour is a tech community hub that aims to empower and create spaces for, and centering, Black, Indigenous and people of colour. (BIPoC) We use inclusive organizing strategies and tailored event programming to create and cultivate spaces where people of colour in the tech industry are visible and/or centered.
Our Values:
This event aims to inspire all Black, Indigenous and people of colour interested in tech or already working in tech industries. TechInColour seeks to:
create a space where BIPoC can meet people with similar experiences, build relationships and support each other's work
empower BIPoC by providing them the resources and support they need to become successful in their professional careers
increase the presence and visibility of BIPoC within the tech industry, tech companies and tech communities
Formed in 2013, The Presidents Group (PG) is a network of business leaders
in B.C. who are focused on increasing employment opportunities for people
with disabilities and creating a more accessible consumer marketplace. As
part of their work, they look to:
o Improve human resource practices within businesses by identifying
innovative workforce strategies that support all employees and enhance
productivity.
o Identify barriers and solutions for businesses when hiring persons with
disabilities.
o Create opportunities for the Province, in partnership with B.C. businesses,
to improve supports for employers in order to support the hiring of people
with disabilities.
The Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) supports, promotes and represents the shared interests of 7,000 businesses and property owners in the central 90-block area of Vancouver’s downtown core.
We focus on priorities voiced by our members: programs and services in the areas of advocacy, accessibility, cleanliness, beautification, business support, marketing and mobility. We represent our members’ shared goals, drive creative solutions forward and take meaningful action to constantly improve the downtown Vancouver experience.
We operate strategically at the intersection of downtown businesses, local policy-makers, non-profit organizations and all the people who make up Vancouver’s diverse neighbourhood communities.
WorkWithUs Foundation's mission is to find meaningful employment opportunities for marginalized individuals in the metro Vancouver area.
Vancouver Pride Society strives to produce inclusive, celebratory events, and advocate for LGBTQAI2S+ communities through an intersectional lens.
We are a Vancouver-based non-profit volunteer organization. Our team’s official name is Love Builder Non-Profit Society, which was legally registered in BC in 2015. We are currently running an inter-generational & multicultural youth volunteer program which mainly focuses on helping seniors deal with problems such as social isolation and age-related mental illness.
Our volunteers include young people who come from many different ethnicities; North American, Chinese, Latin American, Indonesian, Malaysian, Japanese, South Korean, and Eastern European, etc., 90% of which are high school and post-secondary students. Their ages range from 7 to 30 years old.

We are women social entrepreneurs through the marketing of our skill-based feminist counseling training program since the 1990s and with the opening of the My Sister’s Closet Eco-thrift boutique in 2001. We have grown to fully realize our potential as successful social businesswomen.
As advocates of zero waste, eco-fashion and the thrift movement, we enable women, men and children to access beautiful new and second-hand clothing. Revenue generated from the sales of clothing help fund violence prevention and intervention services operated by Battered Women’s Support Services which support over 11,000 women every year

The Wellness Proposal focuses on applying proper mental health to our daily lives. Mental health is something everyone faces and has to deal with everyday. The objective of The Wellness Proposal, a Vancouver based project, is to help provide and give everyone the ability to care and support the well being of themselves and others in a group dynamic. This includes hosting social events and gatherings for students, including group volunteering initiatives at local organizations to promote wellness within students and in the wider community.
S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Chinese Help Lines provides free, confidential, and non-judgmental emotional and informational support from 10 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week, by professionally trained volunteers in Mandarin and Cantonese.
In 2008, a few students at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business had been attending conference and events and noticed a gap. Not enough women were featured as speakers and there was nothing addressing the unique needs and interests of young women in the workplace.
An idea began to develop and very quickly grew into the vision of a network and conference for young women in business. In March 2008, the first YWiB Beyond Pink Leadership Conference was launched, highlighting inspirational speakers, workshops and events all featuring women.
YWiB continues spreading this same aspiration today. With each year we grow, we are proud to support even more young women to achieve success on their own terms.
Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy is a fun 5 km fundraising walk to help support families affected by life-altering workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths. It’s a unique way to educate your community about the devastating ripple effects of a workplace tragedy and how we can work together to prevent others from being injured or killed on the job. You can make a difference too.
Evans Lake has been operating as a camp and outdoor education facility since 1960. The Centre is located 15 kilometres North of Squamish, BC on a picturesque mountain lake. Surrounded by forest, the Centre offers a feeling of wilderness seclusion while featuring all your basic amenities, accommodations and full catering.
Each year Evans Lake offers a full summer camp program with sessions for campers aged 8-12 years, 10-14years, 13-16 years, as well as Leadership Training Camps and wilderness based Outdoor Adventure Kamps (OAK). Registration begins each year in January. We also offer a 4 day Winter Camp program for kids aged 8-16, in December each year.
The Centre is also open year-round and available for school field trips, family events, weddings, corporate retreats and private bookings. Rentals over 41 people offer exclusive use of the facility including full catering, use of all activity equipment and accommodations for 140.
We believe Outdoor Education is an experience every child should have. By taking the classroom to the great outdoors kids have an opportunity to get their hands dirty, learn in an interactive and fun environment, and develop personally.
