Coast Mental Health has been helping people recover from mental illness since 1972. We operate 54 locations throughout Greater Vancouver and provide services to over 5,000 individuals annually. Coast Mental Health’s care is based on three pillars:

Housing – We take a “housing first” approach. Coast Mental Health connects people living with chronic mental illness or addictions with secure housing as an essential part of their recovery. Today, we provide a continuum of residential care services to almost 1,500 people at 54 sites throughout the lower mainland.

Support services – Through our support services, we help clients build on their strengths, access existing government and community resources, manage their health, and live richer lives.

Employment/education – Our employment and educational programs boost self-confidence, add meaning to client’s lives, and improve financial independence.

You nourish your soul by fulfilling your destiny, by developing the potential that the soul represents. When you fulfill your soul’s destiny, you will feel “right.” Conversely, when you ignore your soul’s destiny, when you get caught up in your own self-interests and forget to care for others, you will not feel “right.” Instead, you will feel empty and unfulfilled. During these times, you are neglecting your soul–you are depriving it of nourishment. When I talk to people who feel this emptiness and lack of fulfillment, I recommend they find a source of balance in their lives. I suggest they find a way to “give back” to the world in order to feel a sense of completeness.
