Description de l'opportunité

WISH Drop-In Centre has been supporting street-based sex workers since 1984. All staff, volunteers and participants at WISH are women (cis and trans), Two-Spirit, non-binary, or gender diverse, and 19+ years old.

We would not be able to operate without the dedication and commitment of our incredible volunteers! Volunteers help to prepare and serve more than 60,000 meals and snacks to WISH participants each year.

As a Kitchen Volunteer at WISH, your duties would include:

  • Receiving and processing food donations
  • Food prep and portioning
  • Dishwashing and light janitorial duties
  • Prepare and serve hot, nutritious meals

It’s important to understand that WISH Drop-In Centre is a non-judgmental space, providing a variety of low-barrier programs to participants.

This opportunity is a good fit for volunteers with a commitment to harm reduction, active listening, and holding space for those in need. An understanding of “rights over rescue” and trauma-informed care is also an asset.
