Plan Institute is a national non-profit and social enterprise based in Vancouver, B.C., that supports people with disabilities and their families. We provide educational material and resources, collaborate on community-based projects, and engage with a wide array of partners to host innovative initiatives for change and policy reform. Plan Institute’s mission is to empower people with disabilities to lead a good life.

Plastic Oceans Foundation Canada, a Federally Incorporated NFP, and Canadian Registered Charity, is a Plastic Awareness Coalition, utilizing the power of film and other media to educate Canadians to “rethink plastic” and inspire behavioral change. Working in collaboration with like-minded organisations across Canada we are combining efforts to solve a global problem through local action. We aim to educate Canadians to become plastic literate, so they can make informed decisions about how and when they accept plastic and challenge society’s perception that this indestructible substance can be treated as ‘disposable’. We must solve the problem within a generation. Our Charitable Purposes: To promote the conservation and protection of the natural aquatic environment in Canada (and the world) for the benefit of the public by educating the public on the dangers of plastic waste by: producing and distributing educational films, videos, documents, and other informative materials and resources; and presenting lectures, workshops, seminars and group discussions. To carry out activities ancillary and incidental to the above charitable purposes

With 10 large-scale events being operated across Canada this year, Hockey Night in Canada’s Play On! is one of Canada’s Largest Street Tournaments and Hockey Festivals. The event represents a unique and true celebration of both Canadian culture and sport and allows adults and kids to channel their inner NHL superstar! This year, we are thrilled to bring Play On! Vancouver (www.playon.ca/events/vancouver) to its new home at the YPK Integrated Training Centre in Pitt Meadows on June 25-26, 2016.

Point Grey Village is one of the 22 Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) in Vancouver. It is managed by the Point Grey Village Business Association, a non-profit organization that each business and property owner on West 10th Avenue between Discovery and Tolmie Streets is a member of. Our BIA has a two fold mandate: 1) To improve, beautify and maintain public lands & buildings within the BIA, beyond what is provided by the municipality at large. 2) To promote the areas as a business and shopping area – including eateries, shops and services – beyond what businesses can do individually. BIA benefit local economies through various initiatives.

Portobello West fashion and art market is a monthly market held in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The Market is a regular monthly event from March to December at which local designers and artisans can sell their creations directly to the public. It was established in August 2006 by Carlie Smith, a graduate of the University of Victoria who, after living in London, England for two years, wanted to bring the European style market atmosphere to her home town. Carlie envisioned a regular event that would raise the profile of local designers and artisans as well as be a regular outdoor community event.

We are a Registered Non-profit Society (#11928-2085) and an established leader in the HIV/AIDS movement. Uniquely among major agencies in Canada, the POSITIVE LIVING BC Board of Directors is composed entirely of HIV-positive members. With a membership of more than 5,400 HIV-positive members and a proud history spanning three decades, we are Western Canada's largest AIDS service organization and an established leader in the HIV/AIDS movement. We rely on funding, donations from the wider community in order to provide our range of services and events, and to produce a variety of resources and publications.

Postmodern Camerata (PMC) is a non-profit chamber music organization starting its 4th successful season. We’ve performed at a variety of venues including Dunbar Heights United Church, the Canadian Music Centre’s Murray Adaskin Salon and the Orpheum Annex. We’re recognized for our unique ensemble structure (having both instruments and singers) and in recent years, have received support from the SOCAN Foundation and the Vancouver Civic Theatres. We provide opportunities for Canadian composers, and as our name suggests, we play chamber music repertoire that is both traditional and modern. Compared to other ensembles in Vancouver, our musician’s time commitments are more flexible and our repertoire selections feature a wider variety of genres. Most importantly we have an educational outreach mandate to mentor young performers and to encourage youngsters to attend our performances.

Power To Be is a nonprofit organization based in Victoria and Vancouver that empowers people living with a barrier or disability to explore their limitless abilities through inclusive adventures rooted in nature.

Nestled in the heart of North Vancouver’s Lower Lonsdale, Presentation House Theatre has become a neighbourhood cultural hub, providing the community with a dynamic mix of professional theatre, music, and dance productions — all just a Seabus away from downtown Vancouver. We are the North Shore’s professional theatre company. Formed in 2013, The Presidents Group (PG) is a network of business leaders in B.C. who are focused on increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities and creating a more accessible consumer marketplace. As part of their work, they look to: o Improve human resource practices within businesses by identifying innovative workforce strategies that support all employees and enhance productivity. o Identify barriers and solutions for businesses when hiring persons with disabilities. o Create opportunities for the Province, in partnership with B.C. businesses, to improve supports for employers in order to support the hiring of people with disabilities.
