Start2Finish is a national nonprofit that works with elementary school students in over 70 under-resourced communities across the country. Our mission is to break the cycle of child poverty by providing ongoing educational support to Canada’s at-risk children throughout their school years, nurturing mind, body and social health so they are empowered to succeed and become role models for change. Our vision is to eradicate the effects of child poverty in Canada. We operate free running and reading clubs once a week at partner elementary schools that focus on physical activity and literacy development. Students work towards completing a 5km run by the end of the program and also participate in reading challenges. These clubs run from October to the end of May.

Steps for Life - Walking for Families of Workplace Tragedy is a fun 5 km fundraising walk to help support families affected by life-altering workplace injuries, illnesses and deaths. It’s a unique way to educate your community about the devastating ripple effects of a workplace tragedy and how we can work together to prevent others from being injured or killed on the job. You can make a difference too.
Each spring, we join together to build a more hopeful future for all those affected by workplace tragedies. On any given working day, three families will learn a loved one won't return home from work. Thousands more will experience a workplace injury or illness that will change their lives forever. Their families, friends, and co-workers will rally together to be there for one another. The Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support, known as Threads of Life, supports the healing journey of families who have suffered from a workplace fatality, traumatic life-altering injury, or occupational disease. Every year, Threads of Life hosts Steps for Life. This 5-km family walk aims to educate the community. It highlights the ripple effects of workplace tragedies. And, it shows how we can prevent such incidents.

The Stroke Recovery Association of BC (SRABC), doing business as After Stroke BC, has been providing services, education and advocacy to those affected by stroke, throughout every stage of recovery, since 1979. Our mission is to empower survivors to live fulfilling, independent lives post-stroke. We do this by providing participant-centred, barrier-free (including cost-free) stroke recovery programs in over 30 communities across BC. We provide education, resources and hope to stroke survivors, their families, friends and caregivers. We raise awareness regarding the impact of stroke, stroke recovery resources and benefits available in our province, and share information on the prevention of stroke. We also act as a resource for health care professionals and others concerned with the effect of stroke on individuals and their families. After Stroke BC is a proud affiliate of After Stroke, a program of March of Dimes Canada.
