Not many Vancouverites are aware but Vancouver is one of few municipalities that offer recreation programming via partnerships with volunteer-driven not-for-profit societies. Led by an elected volunteer Board of Directors, the Trout Lake Community Centre Association (TLCCA) has been working behind the scenes here since 1956 to ensure offerings are tailored to local need. Our mission is to provide accessible and inclusive social, cultural, recreational and educational opportunities that strengthen individual, family and community wellbeing.

The Centre for Sustainable Food Systems (CSFS), located at UBC Farm, is a unique research centre that aims to understand and fundamentally transform local and global food systems towards a more sustainable, food-secure future. The centre is a living laboratory, committed to finding solutions to both the local and global challenges facing food systems sustainability and translating solutions to improve personal, community, and environmental health.

UBC Recreation Intramurals hosts iconic events nearly every week throughout the school year at varying levels of competition. Alongside these events, our organization runs ten intramural leagues throughout the academic year. UBC Recreation is committed to making these events and leagues an inclusive, accessible, and respectful experience for all of its patrons, volunteers, and staff.

Unique Get Together Society is a registered charity that is dedicated to empowering indigenous peoples and all marginalized communities through our support programs and activities. We see our primary responsibility to deliver services with a distinctly indigenous perspective and principles. Our Mission is to empower the Indigenous, marginalized and underserved communities, individuals and families we serve. Community theatre

The United Scottish Cultural Society is a registered BC non-profit organization with representation from various Scottish organizations located in the Metro Vancouver area. The mission of the USCS is (a) to organize, facilitate and promote Scottish cultural activities and events, (b) educate and disseminate knowledge of the Scottish culture, heritage, language, music, dance and art to the public at large, (c) to operate in collaboration with Scottish cultural organizations in Metro Vancouver and to (d) do the same as a non-profit organization.

United We Can is a registered non profit organization formed 26 years ago to help individuals on the Downtown Eastside with employment opportunities and also a depot location where the binner community can safely bring their refundable beverage containers to and receive  a full refund on each container .

Uno a Uno is an organization that works with local leaders in Ecuador’s underserved communities to provide innovative education, empowering people of all ages to realize their potential and transform their lives.

Urban Ink is a Vancouver-based professional theatre company that produces works by Indigenous and diverse artists. We put the power in the hands of Indigenous and culturally diverse artists to tell their own stories from their own unique voice. Our Mission  Urban Ink uplifts Indigenous and diverse voices through live performance. Our Story Established in 2001, the company was founded by Métis artist Marie Clements as an Indigenous and multi-cultural theatre company and produced over a dozen new works for the mainstage. In 2007, Diane Roberts became artistic director, creating new work, touring internationally to the Caribbean, and working in collaboration with rural Indigenous communities. In 2014, Oji-Cree First Nations theatre artist Corey Payette became artistic director. Corey is committed to deepening Urban Ink’s strong tradition of developing and investing in the voices of Indigenous and diverse artists to create work that celebrates the diversity of Canadian theatre.

UNYA's focus since its inception in 1988 has been to provide meaningful opportunities for Indigenous youth (Aboriginal, Metis, Inuit, First Nations, Status, Non-Status) in the urban setting. Our goal is to be a safe place for Indigenous youth to come and find out about programs and services at UNYA and in the broader community. UNYA strives to support Indigenous youth by providing a diverse continuum of advocacy, preventative and support services that respond to their immediate and long-term needs. Today, UNYA delivers 20+ programs, with 175+ volunteers, 100 staff, and more than 300 community partners.
