The Yard Garden Harvest Program (YGHP) grows food in five of our neighbours' yards to provide local, community-grown produce to Little Mountain Neighbourhood House's Food Distribution Program. The YGHP is rooted in deepening connections by engaging with landowners and volunteers while growing food in a way that benefits the soil, the pollinators, and our community!

YELL Canada is a registered charity that inspires entrepreneurial thinking and invests in young minds, preparing them for a radically different future. We partner with educators and business leaders to deliver real-world programming in high school classrooms, creating powerful problem solvers to build our future economies. YELL builds the connections between youth and local leaders, helping youth see a possible future for themselves at home, while equipping them with the tools and the support network to make it happen. YELL's programming targets high school students aged 15-18 (grades 10-12). Our flagship program is a year-long accredited entrepreneurship and innovation high school course. It involves a teacher led and mentor supported fully accredited course (students receive school credit), that runs from Sept-June.  

Organization: Young Readers’ Choice Awards Society of BC About Us: The Young Readers’ Choice Awards Society of BC is dedicated to fostering a love of Canadian literature among children, families, and educators across British Columbia. Through our programs and initiatives, we provide opportunities for young readers to discover, connect with, and be inspired by outstanding Canadian books. Role Overview: As the Human Resources Manager volunteer, you will play a key role in ensuring that the Society operates smoothly and effectively by supporting our team with HR-related tasks. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about Canadian children literature and eager to contribute their skills to a meaningful cause. Key Responsibilities: Volunteer Management: - Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and orienting new volunteers. - Maintain an updated record of volunteers and their roles within the organization. - Support volunteers with resources and ensure a positive volunteer experience. Policy Development: - Draft and update policies and procedures related to volunteer and staff engagement. - Ensure compliance with relevant labor and nonprofit guidelines. Team Support: - Mediate and resolve minor team concerns or questions as needed. - Assist in fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture. Administrative Tasks: - Maintain HR documentation, such as volunteer agreements and training materials. - Support the scheduling and coordination of volunteer activities or meetings. Qualifications: - A background or interest in human resources, nonprofit management, or related fields. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. - Familiarity with BC employment and volunteer management standards is an asset but not required. The purpose of the Award is to create a rich reading experience for children in grades 4-7, families, and educators while supporting and promoting the Canadian publishing industry.  Our mission is that we are: A learning commons for kids, families, and educators across British Columbia to discover, connect, and be inspired by Canadian literature written for kids. An our vision is: An engaged, excited, and educated province-wide Red Cedar Book Awards community  

Young Women in Business is a community for emerging female leaders and young professionals who want to create their own success. We believe every women and young professional stepping into the workforce or growing in their career should be well equipped with the proper set of tools and knowledge to reach their fullest personal and professional potential. In 2008, a few students at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business had been attending conference and events and noticed a gap. Not enough women were featured as speakers and there was nothing addressing the unique needs and interests of young women in the workplace. An idea began to develop and very quickly grew into the vision of a network and conference for young women in business. In March 2008, the first YWiB Beyond Pink Leadership Conference was launched, highlighting inspirational speakers, workshops and events all featuring women. YWiB continues spreading this same aspiration today. With each year we grow, we are proud to support even more young women to achieve success on their own terms.

YLAE is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that aims to help underprivileged children in local communities gain access to the artistically enriching opportunities. The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Youth Leadership Millennium (YLM) program empowers youth aged 14-24 to take on leadership roles in their personal lives and the community. We strive to offer youth the skills and competitive edge required for successful personal, relational, and community growth.  

Youth SEE BC is a student-run non-profit focused on making STEM, economics, and entrepreneurship accessible for today's youth. Our goal is to promote an interest and understanding of these fields among students, as well as to encourage long-term engagement with these concepts. Youth SEE BC is working to inspire young leaders in the worlds of STEM, economics, and entrepreneurship, as well as bringing together those with common goals and visions for the future of these fields.

Our mission at The Youth Tutoring Project is simple: to help every child reach their full potential and achieve their dreams through engaging, fun, and interactive tutoring sessions. We believe that every child deserves access to quality educational support, no matter where they come from. The Youth Tutoring Project addresses the academic struggles of lower-income grade 1-8 students. Unlike other affordable services, YTP combines tutoring with students' passions, fostering enthusiasm for learning and innovation.
