We're looking for passionate volunteers to join our Board of Directors!About BEST MobilityBEST Mobility, founded in 1991 as Better Environmentally Sound Transportation, is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing healthy and sustainable transportation across British Columbia. Our work is grounded in collaboration, education and advocacy.Through partnerships with communities, institutions, and local organizations, we deliver practical programs that remove barriers and support people of all ages and abilities to access sustainable transportation choices. View our 2026-2030 Strategic Plan to learn more about where we’re headed.About the RoleWe're looking for individuals across BC with leadership experience who are passionate about sustainability, public policy, and/or mobility justice, as well as people who bring skills and experience in:Fundraising, donor relations & fund developmentMarketing, communications, PR & mediaNon-profit organizationsBusiness, industry & community connectionsWe're also looking for diverse perspectives and lived experiences that can help strengthen our organization and advance our mission.We especially encourage applications from Indigenous peoples, members of the LGBTQ2S+ community, individuals with disabilities, and people from other equity-deserving groups.Time CommitmentBoard members are expected to attend at least 75% of meetings (held 9-12 times per year). Each Director is also asked to participate meaningfully in at least one Board committee, contribute actively to strategic planning and budgetary planning processes, and serve as a community ambassador for BEST Mobility, promoting the Society's mission, values, and programs in all relevant professional and public settings.Directors should expect to commit a minimum of three to five hours per month to Board duties, including meeting attendance, pre-meeting preparation, committee participation, and community representation. The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is recruiting volunteers (ages 19-35) to join our inaugural Next Gen Action Council, a national group of emerging leaders helping shape how Gen Z and Millennials connect with the cancer cause through advocacy, community building, fundraising, storytelling, and digital engagement. This isn't your typical volunteer opportunity. You'll have a seat at the table, collaborate with other driven young professionals and community leaders, and influence initiatives designed for your generation. We're currently recruiting for three volunteer leadership positions: ➡️ Next Gen Brand Engagement Lead: Drive ideas that strengthen CCS's connection with young adults through content, storytelling, digital engagement, and brand activation. ➡️ Next Gen Fundraising Lead: Shape fundraising priorities, champion new campaign ideas, influence donor and volunteer engagement strategies, and drive innovative approaches that inspire Gen Z and Millennial supporters across Canada. ➡️ Next Gen Mission & Advocacy Lead: Increase awareness of cancer-related issues and amplify the voice of young adults across advocacy, research, education, prevention, and survivorship.
