Writing a letter can change a life! Join other volunteers in our email and postal fundraising campaign that will find new sponsors for financially poor youth in western Kenya, allowing them to attend high school and graduate. (The secondary school year begins in January in Kenya and is completed in three years.) Work from your computer at home, with flexible hours. Any postage expenses can be reimbursed. Letter format and details of contacts provided by KEEF.You choose the number of possible sponsors you will approach and when you will begin. Organization Summary:Vancouver Food Runners is a registered Canadian charity working at the intersection of food waste, food access, and environmental sustainability. Since launching in 2019, we have built one of the largest volunteer-powered food recovery networks in Metro Vancouver.Using our app-based platform, we connect surplus food from local businesses with nonprofit organizations serving communities across the region. Every day, volunteers use the Vancouver Food Runners app to transport fresh surplus food from donors to community partners including food banks, neighbourhood houses, shelters, and community organizations.Our volunteers, known as Food Rescue Heroes, are at the heart of this work. By completing short food rescues across the region, they help ensure good food is shared with communities instead of going to waste.Volunteer Opportunity Summary:Vancouver Food Runners is looking for volunteers to join our growing network of Food Rescue Heroes.Food rescues are simple and flexible. Using the Vancouver Food Runners app, volunteers can claim a rescue that fits their schedule and transport surplus food from a local business to a nearby nonprofit organization. Most rescues take 30–60 minutes and can be done by car, bike, or on foot depending on the location.Every rescue helps reduce food waste while supporting organizations that provide meals and food access across Metro Vancouver.Why volunteer with Vancouver Food Runners? The Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) is recruiting volunteers (ages 19-35) to join our inaugural Next Gen Action Council, a national group of emerging leaders helping shape how Gen Z and Millennials connect with the cancer cause through advocacy, community building, fundraising, storytelling, and digital engagement. This isn't your typical volunteer opportunity. You'll have a seat at the table, collaborate with other driven young professionals and community leaders, and influence initiatives designed for your generation. We're currently recruiting for three volunteer leadership positions: ➡️ Next Gen Brand Engagement Lead: Drive ideas that strengthen CCS's connection with young adults through content, storytelling, digital engagement, and brand activation. ➡️ Next Gen Fundraising Lead: Shape fundraising priorities, champion new campaign ideas, influence donor and volunteer engagement strategies, and drive innovative approaches that inspire Gen Z and Millennial supporters across Canada. ➡️ Next Gen Mission & Advocacy Lead: Increase awareness of cancer-related issues and amplify the voice of young adults across advocacy, research, education, prevention, and survivorship.
