The Gathering Our Voices (GOV) organization hosts a week long event once a year for Indigenous youth to participate in a wide variety of workshops and cultural events. This year the 16th annual Gathering Our Voices Indigenous Youth Leadership event will be held on Musqueam traditional territory, in Richmond, B.C. GOV will take place between March 20th and March 23rd.

George Pearson Centre is a residential, long term care facility for adults with disabilities. Adults of all ages live at George Pearson and require care for many different reasons. Many residents have extensive physical disabilities including persons with acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis and other neurological disabilities.

VOLUNTEER ROLES:

We have several different volunteer roles at this location including: 1 to 1 Visiting, Recreation, Community Outings, Cards & Games, Artworks. Volunteers get the opportunity to work 1 on 1 with the residents while assisting staff with the activities and therapeutic programs. It's a great way to help others and gain more experience in a residential setting.

Guiding is a fun, safe and inclusive space where units explore new interests and passions. Our programs include exploring the outdoors, social justice, STEM, arts, community service, and much more! We welcome all female-identified community members. In Renfrew District (East Vancouver), like many areas, we have wait lists for many programs and are looking for more adult volunteers (ages 19+) to allow more access to all the fun and friendship of Guiding.

Established in 1910, Girl Guides of Canada has added over 7 million Canadian girls and women to the Guiding family. Today, Guiding's innovative programming is helping the next generation of Canadian girls become confident, courageous and resourceful leaders.

Girls Rock Camp Vancouver is a non-profit society that builds self-esteem in female and non-binary youth through music creation and performance. By providing workshops and technical training, we create leadership opportunities, cultivate a supportive community of peers and mentors, and encourage social change and the development of life skills. We run a summer day camp for girls and non-binary youth age 8-17. GRCV campers will attend classes in instrument instruction, songwriting, workshops, band practice, and engage in sharing and self esteem building.

Give Back Market is a social purchasing platform for smallholder organic spice farmers. The platform has launched a Combat Hunger Challenge on the World Food Programme's Share the Meal app to bring much needed food and supplies to families and children around the world.

It was co-founded by passionate advocates who are committed to raising awareness, advocating for research funding, and ultimately finding a cure for Parkinson's. Through various initiatives, campaigns, and collaborations, PD Avengers works to mobilize the Parkinson's community and influence policymakers, researchers, and healthcare professionals to prioritize finding a cure and improving the lives of those living with the disease. It's a collective effort to bring about positive change and accelerate progress towards ending Parkinson's once and for all.

Global Choice is a non-profit, non-governmental, and volunteer-based organization that provides intercultural learning opportunities to help people develop the knowledge, skills and understanding needed to create a more just and peaceful world.
