Who we are:
The Gluten Free Expo began in a small community center gymnasium in Vancouver, BC with just two simple goals:
- To collect gluten free food donations so gluten intolerant families needing assistance will never have to choose between eating, or feeling ill. Sadly, due to the higher costs of Gluten Free food, this is a category that is not often donated and is needed by Food Banks across Canada.
- To help those living with a gluten intolerance discover new dietary solutions, connect with others in the Gluten Free community, and to provide education on living gluten free the healthy and accessible way.
Following the first Gluten Free Expo, exhibitors and attendees alike asked us to come back again, so we did, and continue to do yearly and then expanded to different cities.
Hope to see you soon!

Greater Van Gogos is a network of more than 20 local groups registered with the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers Campaign. Our members are diverse, engaged and united by our commitment to support the work of African grandmothers raising a generation of children orphaned by AIDS. We raise funds, increase awareness about the challenges and successes of grandmothers in Africa and build solidarity between African and Canadian grandmothers.
The Campaign is an exceptional model of fundraising based on the principles of social justice. African grandmothers identify their needs and the Campaign responds. Our support helps the community based organizations provide school fees and uniforms for children, adequate housing, skills training, home care visits, grief and trauma counselling and micro credit grants for income generation.

History
The Greater Vancouver Food Bank was set up as a temporary relief to the hunger crisis in 1983 and has grown significantly in the four decades since then.
Today the GVFB sees over 800,000 visits from clients annually across Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and the North Shore.
Who We Support
52% of the food distributed by the GVFB goes to individuals in four locations across our catchment area: Vancouver (57%), Burnaby (25%), New Westminster (9%), and the North Shore (8%). Of these clients 31% are children and 15% are seniors. The remaining 48% of the food distributed goes to our network of Agency Partners. These partners use GVFB food to fuel their food programs, including small community food banks, daily snack and meal programs for shelters and community housing, school nutrition programs, and more.
